The location, facilities and it's near to the beach.
This is the place to stay if you have young kids. We travelled with our 5 and 7 year old and we couldn't have picked a better place to go! Of the five towns, Monterosso al Mare has the best flat beaches that allowed my kids to skip rocks, search for sea glass and play in the water safely.
Very near the water is a playground that was clean and well taken care of. There were nice shops in the square with clean bathrooms and yummy treats we could snack on while the kids played.
A lot of people said that Monterosso wasn't as charming as the other towns, but it was pretty charming in the old part as we walked the streets nestled up past the playground.
We came in April and lucked out with weather. I could see how in the Summer it could get crowded and hot, but we felt like the crowds were minimal and the temperature was perfect.

What you think of when you think of "traditional Italy".
What you think of when you think of "traditional Italy". Just an enchanting city by the sea. Great harbor views, wonderful restaurants, and packed with tradition. Lovely hiking trails, just the perfect place to relax and watch the ocean.

Great town to stay at cinque terre if you come with familly.
Great town to stay at cinque terre if you come with familly. Was not all that touristy all things considered (as opposed to Vernazza, which was swarming with tourists). I would suggest to go out of season, because there is already a lot of people there (we went late november), I can't imagine what its like in July/august.

Excellent food and Gelato everywhere.
Excellent food and Gelato everywhere. The croissants for breakfast are amazing and fresh. Make sure you get the the restaurants by the ocean for sunset. You don't need to eat there as it's very expensive and the lineups can be up to 2 hrs if you don't make a reservation a day or 2 in advance but the views for sunset are definitely worthwhile going and getting pictures. Make sure you bring mosquito repellent because the time we were there, we were getting eaten alive. The house flies were also extremely bad everywhere but according to the locals, it was never bad lime that before. It was just bad luck. Just maybe bring a very light long sleeve shirt and a light pair of pants because it's also still close to 28 degrees in the middle of Oct when we were there. Nonetheless, it was amazing.

- Perfect location to visit Cinque Terre, easy to reach from the parking and also from the station
- Lovely room with balcony: bathroom was recently renovated and clean, room was spacious, balcony view was beautiful, the whole place is just super nice, they also have a lovely terrace at the entrance
- Service is great, all the ladies at the reception were amazing! Not common to find such good service in Italy (I’m Italian), everyone was very professional. Also the home-made breakfast was delicious.
The location is perfect, right on the beach. Waking up hearing the sea was a dream come true! The hotel is also 2 mins away from the train station from where one can take a few minutes train ride until the other Cinque Terre villages. The room is spacious, modern designed with shades of blue, very clean. For breakfast, we had the opportunity to choose what we wanted to have next day by filling in a form the night before. We appreciated that we could also preorder fruit and vegetables.
The staff greeted us right away and were very welcoming and friendly - that made it really easy to start loving the property
There is a Restaurant/Cafe located on the main floor of the hotel that serves one of the best Napoli pizzas I have had - they didnʻt skimp on the anchovies! The vibe here is very laid back and the hotel sits right on the beach front - the view is amazing from the large corner balcony of Room 6
I would certainly recommend Villa degli Argentieri
The property was beautiful and such a wonderful respite from the cinque terre crowds. I loved walking around the grounds, appreciating the tranquility. The meal there was probably the best that I had all week during my travels through Italy. The best part was the incredible staff! Pedro was very charming, helpful, and kind. I also had wonderful conversations with Lucci and Julia … everyone made me feel so welcome and at home. I am so glad my travels lead me here!
Location in Old Town was great. Hotel had an elevator, internet and great water pressure in shower. The included breakfast, on the terrace, was fabulous. A lot of tasty food to choose from. The staff was very courteous and helpful. I brought my own converter so I don't know if they provide one if you ask. Monterosso is a great base to stay in for the Cinque Terre. I will stay at Hotel again if I go back.
The breakfast was delicious with lots of good choices. The location was excellent with great access to the beach, wonderful places to eat, and amazing views of all the five towns of Cinque Terre. The hospitality provided by the family who owns and operates the hotel was exceptional. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to visit the area.
exceed my expectations, Alessandra and Francesca outstanding for the whole time of our stay, we had an issue with our son medical conditions and the hotel made us feel comfortable and they support at the highest level. Everyday they provide a free shuttle to Monterosso, the hotel is 4km top of the road, well organised and cool house. Breakfast one of the best!
Hotel Punta Mesco is in a great location. It's near the center of Monterosso al Mare, but still accessible by car (and with free parking!). Once you're here, it's easy to access the train station to explore the other cities in Cinque Terre. The staff are amazing, and go out of their way to make sure your stay is great. The breakfast is delicious and plentiful.
The price of the room is good for how large!! A lot of space, AC and mini fridge. We got a balcony and it was very nice. The shower is clean and good water heat and pressure.
The hotel is far away considering how small the town is but only about 7 minutes from the beach.
Breakfast was ehhh but there is such good food in Monterosso it doesn’t matter
Location is great just off the central strip in Monterosso. Great Breakfast inside or outside with Scrambled Egg or Omelotte if required. Plenty by way of cold cuts & cakes etc. if preferred. Lovely little Pizza place - Il Frantoio, available by the slice in the side street by the hotel, doing a roaring trade during the day - worth a slice at lunchtime.
Monterosso is probably one of the most beautiful places I have been to. The hotel is centrally located. We were there in June, very busy, beautiful weather, but in the evening the crowds ease up, the bar next to the hotel is brilliant as was the restaurant next door. Just a beautiful part of the Italy and the world. Would highly highly recommend.
The B&B has a perfect location in Monterosso al mare, great views over the sea and comfortable rooms. The hotel has a free shuttle service available to get to and from Monterosso, which is very handy especially on the way back up the steep hill.
Marta was very welcoming and ensured we were comfortable during our stay.
Great location and free onsite parking, which is a huge plus in Cinque Terre! The breakfast was also perfect. Privately owned and run. If you need a fancy resort with a lot of amenities, this is not your place. If you want clean and sufficiently sized rooms, you found your hotel.
We loved this hotel, spotlessly clean, and an easy walk from Monterosso train station.Lovely breakfast,a variety of items.Nice bar area to have a drink when you returned after a day exploring!
very nice location up in the hills. Very helpful lady at the reception. Great breakfast and very clean. The hotel provides a shuttle from and to Monterosso.
