Wonderful and a very ancient town, with many historical buildings to see, unspoiled by the crowds of tourists. It was lively on Saturday with local people walking around shops in the downtown, the prices in the cafes are like for locals. There is a nice view to the river surrounded by the mountains outside the city walls, with a walking path along the river.

Prato is a beautiful town to visit with a range of activities to keep you busy. The restaurants and bars serve authentic, delicious cuisine and have a relaxing and friendly atmosphere. The historical centre is easy and safe to wander around day or night with excellent views of Prato from the parapet of Castello dell’Imperatore. Some of the residents speak english, and are patient with travellers who attempt Italian. Molto bene!

No matter when you arrive and no bus/tkt/etc, be assured that one can walk there easily in about 10 minutes and always on main boulevard/street. It's the main hotel in San Marco piazza (big waterfountain). You can almost see the hotel in the distance from stazione. Lot's of ped/zone activity everywhere. I took the public LAM Blue (1 or 2 euro?) bustop for Flrenze just outside SM piazza. Much easier for me than taking train from Prato SM hotel.

A charming quiet little town, sort of a 'mini-Florence', a nice alternative to staying in Florence. It's only a short distance to Florence by train and a good base for exploring the region. The town itself is pretty with lovely surrounding countryside and it's pleasant to walk along the river.
The most gentle host I have ever stayed with. All the amenities of home plus the luxury of a wonderful self contained apartment. The host was kind and helpful and brought us breakfast, left us a cheeseboard and wrote as a wonderful note thanking is for our stay. I can not praise him enough. The balcony has a wonderful view of tennis courts and stadium. The property is in walking distance of the train, Prato Centro and a picturesque river with walk path. I thoroughly enjoyed the airconditioning and spacious bathroom amenities.
Hotel is located, 5 minutes away from the cental railway station in Prato, from where there is a 20 minutes ride to Florence.
Next to the hotel there is a supermarket, and close to the hotel there are quite good places to have a meal.
The renovation of the hotel is being finalized. Lift is not working yet, but on the other hand everything in the room is new.
The room was bigger than average and well equipped.
All in all, you get good quality for your money.
Everything, the staff was very friendly, kind, nice and helpfull, even the housekeeping team were also wunderfull.
Very fresh breakfast Buffet.
By walk just in few Minutes to reach the city center and the main train station. The bus stops and service was infront of hotel.
It was amazing stay in Hotel San Marco.
I recommend to everbody Hotel San Marco.

Giulia was absolutely kind, and helpful. She gave us plenty of information about what to see in Florence, how to get there by transportation, which was very easy from the accomodation, and other sights to see nearby Prato. The pictures of the apartment match the reality. The rooms were clean, everything was the way we expected.
Right on San Francesco square, the hotel
Is steps away from
The castle, amazing Tuscan food and local shopping. The room was spacious with loads of windows and light. My suite overlooked the back garden. Pleasant, pretty and warm. Staff was amazing and there’s a full kitchen if you want to cook! Will stay again.
The location is fantastic, next to the Duomo and train station, but also quiet even on a Saturday night! All the amenities and so many great restaurants nearby. We spent our whole weekend in the Chinese part of Prato which is nearby and ate until we couldn't anymore! Highly recommend.
I really enjoyed how the location of the hotel. It was about a 7 minute walk to the train station, with easy access to Florence via 20 minute train. The city of Prato offers an escape from the busy city of Florence. The hotel was very clean, and the staff were very kind.
Very friendly staff, some mis-understanding happened about the pre-set breakfast whether included in the room fee & have been removed kindly by the owner. In the heart of Prato & close to train station. No stairs but the owner helped carrying the luggages for me.
Excellent, well-organized, and modern accommodation.
Very well located, close to Porta al Serraglio train station, the historic center of Prato, restaurants, grocery stores, and a variety of shops.
I recommend it and if I go back to Prato, I'll stay there again!
Clean rooms, good breakfast, free parking on site ( breakfast can be improved with more options for warm food, not just eggs, sausages and broccoli), close to highway and mall. The hotel is a little outdated for a 4star but it's good value for the money.
It's a family owned hotel, cozy, really nice and welcoming staff, decent breakfast, close to the railway station Porta al Seraglio and very close to the old center. Plenty of restaurants around and Chinatown within a walking distance.
The owner is a great host and runs a beautiful B&B in her astonishingly situated ancestral home, err, mansion. The views are breathtaking and the surroundings are very quiet but Prato is still very reachable.
Nice location to visit Tuscany from with car, close to center Prato. Close to the station, perfect to visit Firenze. Good breakfast, nice rooms and friendly staff.
The Hotel is very good place for moving in and out from Prato. Have free parking beside the hotel. The staff is very good and answer at any question you have
