Reception lady was lovely. We reserved it last minute arriving on the island close to the port, restaurants and the volcano for our short visit and all was good.
Therasia Sea and SPA is set on the peninsula of Vulcanello, with views of the Aeolian Islands. This impressive building in white stone features a modern spa, and a private access to the sea.

Stunning location and amazing staff. Couldnt recommend this place highly enough. Food was amazing, everything was just perfect.
Located in a small pine wood, the hotel is 350 metres from Isola di Vulcano's main bay and 1 km from the thermal spa. The scheduled hotel shuttle takes guests to and from the port, 1.5 km away.

This is a really friendly, exceptionally clean accomodation in a stylish and authentic Sicilian guest house. Location is excellent, only a couple of minutes from the port, shops, restaurants, beaches and the path to the crater is close as well. The owner, Manfredi is a perfect host! The terraces on the ground floor and the roof are great too! We really enjoyed our stay here! Highly recommended!

The owner allowed us to check out an hour later than expected. The location is close to the start of the trail to the volcano. Relatively quiet at night

Vulcano has a lovely laid-back vibe.
Vulcano has a lovely laid-back vibe. Everyone, from Maurizo (he has a restaurant not far from the supermarket - completely recommend it) is friendly but not over-friendly. The volcano is fascinating to climb, fumaroles fascinating to observe and the beaches are fascinating to frequent, with their sparkling black sands, and even the semi-feral cats are well-cared for.
The mud-baths are great but also a bit feral at the moment - I think they are going to upgrade them ... wear flip-flops around the edges and be careful not to tread where the bubbles are as feet can get scorched ...

We recommend the restaurant La Isla, great pasta in huge portions, you can easily share one plate and have a secondo piatto. The 40 mins walk uphill to Valley dei Mostri is a total waste of time as there are only 2 or 3 rocks vaguely ressembling animals. The place is desolate and depressing. We never found the entrance to the Vulcanello as it is not posted. Equally uninterresting is the Agua calda beach. The water is vaguely tepid at best, the water blurry and the bottom rocky. It is a tourist trap to rent chairs and umbrellas. The La Baia Negra beach is infinitely better. The tour of the island by bus is a delight but a bit expensive at 30 euros per person for an hour, but since there is nothing else to do and the alternative is to rent a car or a scooter - but there is nowhere to go, apart from small Geco, since everything is located around the port. The walk to the volcano has been closed for nearly a year because of excessive gasses. The mud baths are also closed. So, you come to Vulcano for the beach, the scenery, and Giuliana !

It’s a special place as the island is a volcano.
It’s a special place as the island is a volcano. The surrounding is very special, black sand and lots of fishes to see. It’s much more expensive than Sicily and quite touristic. It’s great for diving and has a great diving center.
Not the classic beach you might be thinking of and has a strong smell of sulfur.
Gorgeous view and beautiful sea

One of our favourite islands.
One of our favourite islands. Beautiful, easy to access beaches. Hiking the volcano and kayaking the coves were our highlights. Check out Malvasia and Maurizio’s for amazing food. We visited in September which was perfect- very relaxed, although I imagine in high summer it could get quite busy. If we’d stayed longer than 4 days we would have hired a car of boat to reach the rest of the island.

You have to walk on the roads and compete with cars and overflowing plants from peoples gardens.
The cars don't slow down much and leave inches to spare with the people when overtaking. I found it quite scary and wondered what the accident rate was on the island.
Villa Crimi lies in a very quite location far enough from the sulphur smell of the thermal mud baths, but close enough to reach the main city center and the vulcano itself by walk. There is a free shuttle service from and to the port. The room is very comfortable, spacious and clean. The small terrace offers you a nice place to relax and has a small fridge (including a free 2l bottle of water, which is very convenient because tap water is not drinkable on the island) - breakfast is served directly on your terrace in the morning from 8 am.
I cannot speak highly enough of Pensione La Giara and its owners - Manfredi and her sister went above and beyond to make our stay as pleasant as possible. In fact, they even helped us after we left - they searched everywhere top find a charger we forgot (and found it) and kept giving us tips about our stay in Vulcano. I would recommend La Giara to everybody - it is close to everywhere in Vulcano Porto, cleaned, cozy, they have a wonderful terrace but most importantly they really really care about their guests!
The room was beautiful, the view, the location just perfect. It was clean and the staff was nice. The breakfast is nice and the terrace is amazing. We got a free upgrade, just because they had the bigger room available, it was very nice of them! We very much enjoyed our stay, the hotel is peaceful and beautiful. The room with the kitchen was very well equipped.
The hotel was super clean, and the staff was agreeable. We enjoyed the swimming pool. The breakfast was delicious, with plenty of choices. We also had dinner at the restaurant, and it was excellent. The location is not super central but the hotel has a shuttle bus that takes you to the harbour or if you like to walk, it's just 20/25 minutes walk.
- the room was very clean
- the hotel is very close to the port and they provided transfer from/to the port at no extra cost
- the staff was very friendly and helpful
- the breakfast was delicious with various food
- the sunbeds and umbrellas from the hotel are free of charge
- they gave us very good recommendations for restaurants nearby
Hotel Torre is located in a great position with beautiful view of the sea from the balcony.
The room was big and comfortable.
The balcony was also big with a little kitchen and fridge. Everything was very clean.
The owner is a very kind lady who gave me a lot of info about the island and places to visit.
Highly recommend!!
La Giara is a beautiful calm place to enjoy the staying at vulcano . Is super well located, from the port is just a 10 min walk. The chamber was clean, comfortable and beautiful and Freddy was super polite and willing to give good advices for make your staying even more perfect. Highly recommended place :)
We expected something impersonal, but it was quite the opposite. This was one of the best hotel experiences we ever had. The people working there create a charming atmosphere and we felt at home quickly. Especially the person leading the restaurant is outstandingly friendly and makes for the best service.
Top location with breathtaking and indeed unique view on the sea, the eolian islands and the volcano. Very good and caring staff. Our room (Vulcano suite on 3rd floor "with full sea view)" very nicely designed. Breakfast was excellent.
Nice vegan restaurant, we enjoyed the 13 course menue.
Amazing roof terrace with great view of the two most beautiful places on the island: the vulcano and the black beach. It's a quiet place, short walk from the port and just about 30 meters from the beach. The host really makes you feel you're welcome, whis is a rare thing nowadays.
The hotel staff advise us in advance with pick up service from the port which is really helpful as we have many luggages.
The infinity swimming pool is beautiful with amazing view that the main reason I booked this hotel and didn’t disappoint me at all !
The terrace is huge and the view is amazing
Valentina and Alessandro gave us a very warm welcome. They picked us up from the boat, gave us excellent advice for our stay in Vulcano and were always available if we needed them.
The hotel is beautiful, with nice views, and the land has lots of fruit trees and birds. Francesca, the owner, was very kind and helpful. We loved our breakfast of fresh-squeezed orange juice, coffee, and pastries.
Very friendly check-in and service at breakfast. Room basic but comfortable with good bathroom. Pretty gardens and sun terrace with view of vulcano. 10 mins walk to port.
