The hosts were by far the nicest people I had met in Japan for half a year of my stay here. The plum sake, the warm futon bed futon and the long conversation by the wood-stove were amazing and warmed up both my body and my soul after a long day of winter sightseeing. The oto-san kindly saw me off to the station when the buses had stopped and the oka-san explained me one of their family sake recipes. Will absolutely come here again in summer.
The best thing in Abashiri was the famous yakiniku.
The best thing in Abashiri was the famous yakiniku. It was indeed a great value for money if you love to eat wagyu beef. Other than that, the town is very small and boring. When we were there in late January, there was no drift ice. You could still take the cruise which runs about 45 minutes, but without drift ice. We also tried some local delicacies, such as cured salmon and cured mackerel.
Well...what can I say? This farm house is one of a kind. Beautiful. Beautiful in and out of the house. I slept in the second floor dormitory hall with two Japanese couples and it was very clean and the common area was spacious. All the small figures are cute and beautiful. Electrical outlets everywhere. The landlady was so kind. The kitchen area is beautiful. Big bathroom with big bathtub. And the surroundings. The scenery was out of the description. Don't miss this beautiful farmhouse if you visit Abashiri.
The resort is beautiful. The onsen facilities were wonderful, and the staff is very friendly and helpful.
We had an early morning flight, and so we would not be able to make use of the included breakfast buffet the morning that we left. We thought nothing of missing out, but the resort staff went out of their way to provide us with breakfast bento's to take with us.
It's thoughtful actions like this, taken by staff members that endear resorts and hotels to their guests.
Wonderful place and wonderful people! It really surprised me and makes me feel like I’m home. The couple was very kind and offered to drive me to the station, which really helped me a lot. There is also a fireplace in the living room in the evenings, and sitting in the shared room and talking together was one of the happiest times I had in Hokkaido. Thank you for being so nice to me. I wish I could have stayed a few more nights.☺️
I do have to say the staff were what actually saved this hotel for me. They were so incredibly friendly I was baffled. They even drove me to abashiri prison when I was waiting for the bus, and were just really warm and welcoming. The room itself was really spacious too, and people here say it wasn't clean, which I did not really notice to be honest, though it was not like squeaky clean maybe.
It's on a great location, very near to bus terminal, and in between train station and drift ice station
walkable if you are a bit adventurous
the hotel doesn't have onsen, but they provided with bath salt which is very nice touch
Perfect hotel to stay especially during winter because the hotel is right across the train station, five-minute walk to 2 restaurants.
Very comfortable beds, clean bathroom and toilet; with vendo machines and coin laundry
This very popular hotel comes complete with an onsen experience which we did not use due to our short stay. Check in was efficient and professional. The dinner recommendation was spot on for our request. Very nice stay.
The owner is very nice and we talked a lot. There are sheeps and a horse in the farm, you can go and see them. The breakfast was simple but very good. Then it's very closed to the Abashiri prison to visit.
Clean hotel! Excellent onsen open 24 hours with all the amenities, snacks, and no extra charges! Free nightly ramen! Located on the coast of Abashiri nearby the Ice Breaker Ship and Glass Shop / Museum.
Everything was well prepared, and the value is much better than some hotel stays. And, the owner is very nice and took care of me well. Definitely worth while visiting again.
It was very cozy and bed were comfortable. We like the atmosphere of the place. A good place for a few days stay in Abashiri, within 10 mins drive of attractions.
This is a very nice hotel with very helpful and friendly staff. The room was a great size and perfectly clean. The hotel also has a very relaxing atmosphere.
Free WiFi, very friendly and the man that runs the hotel gave us a ride to the station every morning. The room had tatami mats and the view was beautiful.
