It was very nice, clean and comfortable. The onsen was little but amazing and there were no people when I used it. It's 3 minutes from the most amazing restaurant I tried in Japan (Gin) and also has a restaurant inside, but it was full when i went.
It's quite close to the train stop (little than 10 minutes)

From Tokyo, take the Chuo Expressway to Fujiyoshida (about 100km, 2 hours). Internationally, fly into Tokyo's Narita or Haneda airports, then take a bus or train to Fujiyoshida (2-3 hours). No direct international flights to Fujiyoshida.
The most convenient airport for Fujiyoshida is Tokyo's Haneda Airport, due to its extensive domestic and international connections. It's approximately 130km away, making it a practical choice for travellers.

When sunny, the town is very full of tourists. The train/bus station is very small for the amazing volume of vehicles and people that go through. So be prepared for crowded chaos at the station. Get the sightseeing bus pamphlet - this is a local town bus, the pamphlet shows you the attractions- it was handy. Popular attraction ropeway- great - but not remotely accessible- many many stairs and steep slopes. Good restaurant to the right of the exit of the ropeway.

We stayed for 3 nights - perfect for walking to sights like the pagoda, and a full day at Fuji Q. It meant we could choose our day according to the weather when most rides were open. There was a good variety of restaurants in the area, we had an especially good meal in ‘Aio’. Even in low cloud and rain it was interesting to wander round and fall into cafes and we had the pleasure of suddenly seeing the majesty of Mt Fuji when the clouds cleared. Fujiyoshida was a relaxing change to the tourist bustle of Kyoto and Nara which we’d just been to.

I stayed near the Shimoyoshida Station at Asumi Onsen.
I stayed near the Shimoyoshida Station at Asumi Onsen. I am very glad that I did not stay in Kawaguchiko, which is swamped by huge numbers of tourists from all over the world, causing long lines in every store anywhere near the train station. I got Mt. Fuji views from everywhere but my stay was relaxed and amongst the local Japanese, except at the Chureito Pagoda. Mountains and hiking paths were nearby. On my last day, I went to Kawaguchiko Station to pick up a bus back to Tokyo. One look at the long lines and tourists clogging the streets made me certain that I made the right choice to stay away from all that.

Fujiyoshida is a tourist area.
Fujiyoshida is a tourist area. Within half an hour drive around are ropeways, scenic areas, hikes temples and various other activities like quad bike riding, zip line, safari, rides, outlet shopping, etc. You need to be there to know what is there. For example, Mishima Sky Bridge is not just a scenic area but filled with lots of fun activities. A good time to go is to be able to catch the sunset on the bridge against Mount Fuji. Magical.

Fujiyoshida has some great viewing points for Fuji San, the town itself is quiet but has some lovely places to eat. Even though it is so close to the biggest tourist attraction in Japan it doesn’t feel busy with tourists.

The town was very quiet when we arrived on Sunday morning, which was a most welcome change after being in Tokyo for a few days. It is easy to travel between the town and Fuji Q Highland with the train. The shops in the town are quaint and we enjoyed our time there very much. Everyone we encountered was very welcoming and friendly and helpful.
The host Yumiko is the friendliest person we have met here in Japan. She speaks amazing English and we talked about our lives over dinner. The house is a beautiful modern Japanese house just built a few years ago. It is very close to the main Fuji station which can take you to all the nearby attractions. The view of My. Fuji from our room was incredible and we were lucky to have clear skies. Waking up at sunrise to see the mountain was breathtaking. She made us a delicious breakfast and made sure we knew how to get to our next destination.
A very comfortable house located within walking distance of the Chureito Pagoda and Honcho Street in Fujiyoshida. The facilities are complete, and the house is very comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped, so it is good for making simple meals or heating up food. This turned out to be a big bonus as the restaurants in Fujiyoshida are limited, and tend to close early. The location near the Chureito Pagoda is great because you can beat the crowds during peak periods such as the Sakura season.
Room and the two beds are spacious for 2 adults and 2 young children (5 and 8 yo). Location about 5 min walk from Mt. Fuji station. Easy to find as it's located by the main road. There's a supermarket across the hotel (I didn't go there so no clue what's in there). Light breakfast (ie breads, juice, tea/coffee) but enough to start the day. Coin washing machine and dryer as well vending machine for drinks available in the public area. Coffee, tea and hot water available at the reception area.
We spent 6 nights total here and loved it. Amazing view of Mt. Fuji from our room, laundry room, big bathing area and very comfortable. We met the owner, Rie and she speaks English and is very nice and accommodating. We recommend this place and hope to visit again. Close to Fuji-Q-Highland and tons of places to eat nearby if the hotel restaurant isn’t open. Thank you Rie
A spacious room (compare with many other hotels in Japan), not far from Fuji Q station, with excellent staff service. The staff is very informative and helpful. Enjoy a great outdoor onsen, providing a peaceful experience. A good breakfast is included. Additionally, the location is close to a large supermarket, restaurants, and Fuji Q Highland Theme Park.
The breakfast was delicious, lots of options. Do not miss dinner at the hotel - it's a must! The onsen with the Fuji view were amazing. We loved walking around the Japanese garden. But, the views, the room, the onsen & the dinner were flawless! We came in the dead of winter and there's nothing cosier sitting in the onsen looking at Mt. Fuji.
This was a very nice hotel and the location is unbeatable! After spending the day at FujiQ it was lovely spending the night somewhere so comfy and luxurious-feeling. Check in and checkout were super smooth and easy, and it’s also right next to the bus stop for the highway buses. Biggest bathtub I’ve seen in japan!!
This hotel offers the best value in terms of location, amenities, room space and spectacular views of Mt Fuji. Hopefully they maintain service and facilities as people would be flocking to book once they hear about what this place has in store for travelers around the area.
Beautiful location, you got Mt.Fuji during the day and at night a beautiful view of the city from the balcony. The facility was very spacious with comfy beds and amazing amenities. Our host went above and beyond with their hospitality. Definitely recommend this location!
The view of Mt Fuji from our room was simply spectacular. I've live here for nearly 20yrs and I've never seen such a close up, contours visible view in all those years. Viewing it from the onsen was the icing on the cake. The room was spotless and pristine.
Very nice view of Fuji mountain from a room. Very nice room that can fit our family of five. Easy excess from bus drop area. Can excess to Fuji Q 15 minutes before the opening time. Nice Japanese restaurant on the 2nd floor of the onsen building.
The attached Onsen is great. I used it every day. I got a great price for my stay—cheaper than most business hotels, but with the added benefit of an attached Onsen and yakiniku restaurant. There’s also a convenience store right across the street.
Amazing place , the owner is so sweet and nice , she help a lot for you few day in fujiyoshida!! Probably the best hostel in all my trip in Japan !! ❤️ the place is a perfect location for the activities for see the Mount Fuji!!
No doubt the most beautiful hotel/ryokan that we visited in Japan, the place is incredible beauty and traditional, it looks even better than in the photos. Highly recommended if you are planning to visit Mt. Fuji
We had the best mt Fuji hotel view of our trip and kind hotel staff. The hotel is near some great restaurants and in the middle of all the stations which are easily walkable.
A very nice and comfortable hotel, near to train station. Clean and decent space in room. Staff supportive.
Some install noodles and snack, beer for purchase conveniently.
Nice onsen, and good location close to FujiQ and its train station. Great for exploring the area, and have a relaxing stay. Rooms were big for Japanese hotel standards.
