La Vista Furano Hills Natural Hot Spring, hotel in Furano

Situated in Furano, 300 metres from Furano Station, La Vista Furano Hills Natural Hot Spring features accommodation with a shared lounge, free private parking and a restaurant.

Very friendly staff who were always ready to help and greet. Our room was small but it was comfortable. As onsen is a main thing for this resort, one should really try to have a nice dip in the pool to relax. The buffet breakfast was really top notch with both Western and Japanese selections. Coffee, however, could be stronger and better. They even served a free supper of hot ramen for the guests who felt it was too early to go to bed

Shin Furano Prince Hotel, hotel in Furano

Located right on the Furano Ski Resort, Shin Furano Prince Hotel offers 8 restaurants/cafés and free WiFi in the rooms.

Great location for Bonpow activities, top notched ski in ski out facilities, best ski school and rental services ( especially Sportpia Furano & Furano Snow School )with English speaking instructors and very helpful staff like Ariji san who patiently advised me on which snowboard attire and equipments to pick and rent and help me to pack them nicely in a very nice bag, store them while I went for Ramen nearby, and very thoughtfully advised me on ski techicalities, safety precautions and gears for snowboarding. Breakfast spread is simply amazing. The orange is cut at a specific way to enhance consumption pleasure. Good choices of restaurants, eateries and coffee ateliars nearby. ( Sugiyama Coffee is a dream, very reluctant to share but its so good it beats my conscience not to ). Reception at Lobby is always ready to help out and cater for all my requests including helping to book very reliable taxi to onsen at the tip of the mountain one and a half hour away. Feeling very blessed, grateful and pampered to be able to stay at such a wonderful place.

Furnano town itself is dead in April.

Furnano town itself is dead in April. The only reason to go there are the cheese factory and wine factory. But distances between both are great. Unfortunately, the wine factory was closed at the time we went to Furano (mid-April). The cheese factory experience was great. After which we called a cab (local charges) to Ningle Terrace. This artist village is barely functioning in April -- very few shops were open. But there was one owned by a retired architect that made spinners that come back to you (cool). Gitst: Spring is not the time to visit Furano. All the other seasons would be great. Example: flowers and fruit in the summer season.

Big mountain by Japanese standards with lots of varied terrain. Suitable for intermediates and advanced skiers, a little less so for real beginners. Not overly westernised so still has a Japanese feel. Generally very good snow.

My family and I likes few things in this hotel , free washing machine facilities ( only dryer need to pay ) , massage chair and ice cream after onsen . When kids asleep I can go down have free ramen with my husband . The onsen was very nice and private onsen suitable for our whole family. Free coffee , oolong tea ,juice , water at lobby helps a lot when too Cold to go outside . Free Yakut in the morning was great for kids too . The hotel breakfast was a little bit expensive. We only had once .

    Winter wonderland with amazing views.

Winter wonderland with amazing views. Powder snow everywhere, perfect for snowball fights and snowmen making. Local business owners are lovely to talk to. It’s a quiet place and life takes a more relaxed pace here. Stop by at Fukuzushi/ Fuku Sushi for the biggest nigiri you have ever laid your eyes on. The sushi chefs of Fuku sushi have been making sushi in Furano for at least 40 years. Say hi to chef Ohno, he’s a lovely guy and very friendly. Our hotel La Vista Furano was a destination in and of itself. Skiing at New Furano Prince Hotel’s Furano zone for the first time treated us to some of the best winter views and the best powder snow. The only downside would be that there aren’t a lot of readily available transportation options during the winter, so always book taxis or buses in advance.

DAY TRIP IS ENOUGH: If you are not skiing, I would recommend...

DAY TRIP IS ENOUGH: If you are not skiing, I would recommend that you take a day trip bus tour from Sapporo Station. All the sites can be seen in one bus tour; best to stay the night and other nights in Sapporo. JR FURANO STATION (TRAIN): AVOID IF YOU HAVE LUGGAGES: Be warned: no elevator or escalator in this Station, and to reach any platform from the entrance, you need to climb up one steep flight of stairs, walk through a bridgeway, and walk down another steep flight of stairs. Very very difficult if you have large luggages, and not fit! I would recommend avoiding this station if you have luggages. Note that there is a bus which takes you from Furano to Ashikara station or even Sapporo station, and the travel time between the train trip (with at least 2 train transfers) and the more comfortable bus trip is almost the same. If dragging luggages from train to train AND up/down stairs is an issue: take the bus!

Expected deep powder but spring came early.

Expected deep powder but spring came early. We got there at the end of Feb, just missing a good snow dump, then it got warm and very springlike. Bit disappointing but we'd already had a good couple of weeks down in Honshu. Had expected powder days through March... Maybe just not this year? Can see how the field would be fun with better show. Will try again, earlier, another year! So we put away our boards, did the night sky watch tour (saw a deer and a fox too!) , and the yuma dog sledding experience, and walked into town. Small, farming town - not just a resort.

Great location if skiing in Furano. It’s walking distance to the ski lifts. We came during summer and this was not a consideration. The room we booked is large (esp for Japan) and comfortable. Housed 3 of us comfortably. The owners are personable and easy to deal with. They accommodated our last minute asks. Breakfast is provided every morning, a nice relaxing start to the day. Lawson’s is a stone throw away; convenient

Good ski in ski out resort for families. Direct access to ski slopes and ski wear rental shop was within hotel building. Ski slopes suitable for beginners. F&B staff was very attentive and polite. A particular F&B manager (I didn't note down his name) was very friendly and took good care of us when we were dining at the 12th level restaurant for lunch. Souvenir shop and convenience store is surprisingly well stock up.

Wanda and her husband work tirelessly to ensure satisfaction and always have a warm attentiveness, no matter the time or request. Wanda's English is good, too - which is not common in the middle of Hokkaido. We traveled to experience Naka Furano's Tomita Farms, which was a 20-minute walk in each direction (it was a beautiful sunny day). We were not disappointed! We will remember that day forever

Loved the hostess who welcomed my husband and I every day and drove us to the ski lift each morning and to the train station the day we left. The beds were comfortable and the facilities clean. I enjoyed the hot bath every night. We would absolutely stay here again on our next snowboarding trip to Furano.
