Hita Onsen Kizantei Hotel, hotel in Hita

Hita Onsen Kizantei Hotel offers a hot spring bath and free private parking, and is within 28 miles of Ankokuji Temple and 29 miles of Hiroshiki Oda Museum of Art.

Set along the river, it can be a stunning sight during the golden hours right before sunset and after sunrise. A peaceful, scenic river path walk or bicycle route. You can even climb up to a forested shrine along the river path. The roof top onsen unfortunately doesn't look the photos because there are privacy screens on the womens side that block the view and the inside onsen windows are fogged up, also blocking the view. Meals were plentiful, we couldn't finish the generous sets. Reception staff were not welcoming, which is unusual as all our other stays in Japan the staff cheerfully greet you as soon as you walk in the door or step off an elevator. Very nice yukata and over jackets provided.

Suikomareso, hotel in Hita

Suikomareso is located in Hita, just 26 miles from Ankokuji Temple and 26 miles from Hiroshiki Oda Museum of Art.

Amazing location right on Mamedamachi street. The house is spacious and has a very homely atmosphere. We could tell that there was a lot of care put into the design. There were plenty of things to see and do around the area along with a very helpful and friendly owner. We had a great experience here and would definitely recommend Suikomareso to anyone who plans to visit Hita. One thing to keep in mind is that our stay was during the New Year's period and most nearby shops closed at around 5pm. Make sure you plan ahead for dinner!

The old downtown area was so cute and the Attack on Titan locations were really fun to visit. The food in the area was very delicious, but many places closed early or required reservations for dinner.
