Hotel Vista Matsuyama, hotel in Matsuyama

Hotel Vista Matsuyama features accommodation in Matsuyama near Matsuyama castle and Matsuyama Civic Center. This 3-star hotel offers a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage space and free WiFi.

The hotel is well-located, near most of the tourist traps, such as Matsuyama castle, Okaido. It's also very convenient to reach the tram station and the high speed bus stop, which could take you to dogo onsen and kochi. Breakfast is decent with lots of variety.

Matsuyama New Grand Hotel, hotel in Matsuyama

A 15-minute walk from Matsuyama Castle, Matsuyama New Grand Hotel offers Western-style accommodations with free wired internet access.

A great option for a solo traveller if you get a better deal from Booking on this accommodation. The prices can vary a lot, so that's also a reason why I didn't extend my stay. I love the shared baths – 2 baths in the female section and the water of the onsen one was just 36 degrees, which makes it bearable to stay for a longer period. Also, the room was huge enough to comfortably fit and open my luggage while still having some space for a morning stretch.

Great location for Dogo onsen though our room is a little small. Western beds are comfortable but not enough space for Japanese beds.

Hotel Lepo Chahal, hotel in Matsuyama

Featuring a bar, Hotel Lepo Chahal is located in Matsuyama in the Ehime region, 700 metres from Yasaka Temple and 200 metres from Okaido Shopping Street.

location was great, right above mitsukoshi and so centrally located. the room was very luxe, we had a room so huge as we booked the room to house 3 adults. The breakfast was amazing and we loved it. the staff was so good and polite. however, the location was hard to find as we drove, perhaps easier if you dont drive. the google map brought us round and round, mainly because the hotel do not have a huge entrance / lobby or drop off point, so we had so much problem locating. as we drove, we had to parked in the carpark diagonally across the hotel and then lug the luggage through a link bridge and to the 3rd floor of mitsukoshi and we didnt know how to go up to the hotel at level 8, we had to go round and round and finally went to level of the building and walked through some carpark on level 8 and found the entrance through the back. and in fact, we wondered why cant the hotel allow us to just drive to level 8 of mitsukoshi dept store (where the other entrance of the hotel is) and parking right there, or perhaps let us know so we can drive right to level 8 and drop off my family members and their luggages. finding the hotel was a pain but other than that, i have to say eveything was so good, including the details like the bedroom slippers (so good, we stayed in many 5 star hotels around the world and non is like this) and their amenities bag is so pretty....

Where there isn’t the sea, the city is surrounded by mountains. With the hill that has the castle on top, it creates a nice atmosphere. The onsen town (Dogo onsen) is where I mostly stayed. It was fun to see people walking around in the street in their yukata. Like in many Japanese cities, the tram is cute and all, but it’s very inefficient. Moreover, you can only pay with cash or their local IC card. You cannot use standard IC cards like Pasmo, Suica, etc. We ate at our wonderful hotel (Kowakuen) so I cannot speak about the restaurants.

Beautiful city full of amazing places to visit.

Beautiful city full of amazing places to visit. The must visits are of course the mountain top castle named Matsuyama Castle and also so many others like the Okaido shopping street and the Bansuino old French-style house. There are also delicious foods to try such as the Taimeshi which was delicious as well as the amazingly delicious oranges (mikaan) around the city. There are so many shops selling mikaan and mikaan juice that if you like fruits, you will love this city.

Matsuyama, in the winter at least, is pretty boring. The big onsen that they go on about is a tourist trap so I would not waste your time. I was told Spring and Fall were the best times to go as the Summer is hot and humid. The people seem OK but don’t really want to be bothered by foreigners.

The room itself was very nice, and was pretty spacious. The bed was large, and a second pillow is provided in the room as standard (meaning you don't have to ask!). The staff are polite and professional, too. The hotel itself is in a great location next to Okaido tram station, and nearby the base of the castle. The breakfast selection was pretty decent - they had good croissants and coffee. If I returned to Matsuyama, I would definitely stay here.

This was such a unique place to stay when we were visiting friends in the area. It is a super retro budget onsen hotel so we kept our expectations low. It must have been built in the 70's and even though I have never been there before, it felt nostalgic. The in room bath was super cool and it was nice to always be able to pop into a warm bath overlooking the ocean. There was a great view from the room and looks out into the Seto inland sea.

A traditional Japanese onsen with all the modern conveniences woven in. The staff was exceptionally helpful and caring. When we came by taxi, we were surprised that the taxi driver would not take a credit card, and explained the problem to the staff, who promptly paid the driver with cash, just adding that to our bill. An early morning dip in the onsen was divine, and the dinner superb. This is a 10+ place to stay.

Location: it was in the middle of everything. A waslking distance from the ropeway entrance of Matsuyama Castle, and tram going to Dōgō Onsen is just a stone's throw away. Plenty of shopping mall and restaurants around to choose from Room: it was bigger than what you would expect from a hotel chain catered for Japanese businessmen. It also has separate tub and shower room, which is a rarity
