The hotel very near to Takasaki station and we can walk through the sky bridge from the station direct to hotel. Very safe area and plenty of shopping store also department store, easy to find something to eat even late at night. Hotel so clean and staffs very friendly and helpful. My room is big enough. Would recommend to other friends

We were at an event at the stadium which was walking distance from the hotel. The locals are helpful if you get lost. There's plenty of 7/11 shops to buy food from if you don't like the hotel breakfasts. There's a monument to visit and the train station has the Bullet train links to Ueno where you get on the "underground" style service into the city.

Definitely check out D'z racing cafe.
Definitely check out D'z racing cafe. The shop is a must stop at if you are a fan of Initial D, cars, or just want a quick bite to eat. Also check out the many "onsen" and the shrines that they have there.

The city wasn't so rural.
The city wasn't so rural. It could give vibe of metropolitan area as i wanted. Neither crowded nor sparse. I felt like there weren't enough branches of cheap eating chains. So we ended up having dinner at quite more expensive restaurant than we would usually do.
We liked everything about this hotel, which is located right on top practically of the Takasaki Train Station. It is clearly a hotel targeting businesspeople. The breakfast offerings were abundant and diverse, Western and Asian. There was a coin
self-service laundry which we used - and had not expected. Our room was small. Bed was very comfortable.
The public bath was brilliant. But we especially loved the dinner. It was incredible. Great value for money with refills of rice. The breakfast was great too. The hotel is secluded but it has everything that you'd need, even beer in vending machines at normal prices. We'll definitely come back in the summer as there are lots of activities to do nearby.

Old facilities located central to restaurants and shops. “You get what you pay for” type of hotel. Cheap, yet accommodates for all basic needs: bed, toilet and shower, plus buffet breakfast! Come for breakfast before 8am before the rice and food runs out! Otherwise, you have to wait ~20 minutes for rice and food to get refilled again.
Perfect location in the Takasaki Station building. There’s a nice big Starbucks across the street, an Aeon that sells anything you’d need, and plenty of shopping and eating/drinking within a few minutes walk. Extremely quiet room, nicely decorated. The bathroom is spacious and pleasing.
We stayed in the APA Hotels all over Japan, seems like a good price for the quality you get. Always clean room, good heating system, some small cosmetics and possibility to eat in the hotel (which we did not use). Overall we were always content with the service.
Beautiful, quiet location, it was nice to be away from the cities. The home cooked dinner was exceptional and a real highlight for our group - do not skip it! Highly recommend to anyone visiting the Takasaki area or passing through, even if for just 1 night.
Very convenient location, just right across the bridge from the JR train station and near food & convenience stores. Hotel is slightly old, but comfortable. I appreciate the free self service lockers for baggage storage after check out.
The check in was very quick and easy, no ID was required and the check in staff was kind.
I think the previous reviews I read are a little harsh, it is an old/outdated hotel but the location and the cleanliness is actually quite good.

A completely typical Japanese chain hotel experience. Clean efficient and adequate comfort. Well located with many restaurants, shops and station close by. Short walk to castle site and galleries.
The room was small but clean and functional. I liked that the women’s public bath was open until late, and they gave a code to get in for security purposes. The hotel breakfast was also very good.
Awesome location, all rooms face the lake. Onsen open 24/7, except 2 hours for cleaning.
Rooms Japanese style, very cool. Nice balcony with two chairs and a table.
Great breakfast.
The hotel was in a very convenient location and is very accessible to Takasaki Station. There's a lot of convenient stores & restaurants around. The room was clean.
This hotel is a comfortable dream. As soon as I came in there was such a luxerious and relaxing vibe. EVERYTHING about the room is perfect. 100% would recommend.
