Our stay was a unique experience that me and my partner will never forget. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. Little details everywhere remind you that this is a luxury experience. The food was world-class. But the best thing is the location next to the Mara River. Hearing the hippos bellowing while in bed inside our tent and our game drives early in the morning with an incredibly knowledgeable and expert Masai driver are the kind of things that will stay with us forever.
Mara Explorer is situated in the centre of the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Its Talek River-facing tents are situated on raised, wooden platforms. Each has a Victorian, claw-foot tub.

Me and my partner tried to find something wrong with this place and we couldn't. Absolutely everything here exceeded my expectations. One of the best spots to stay in the masai mara. Having the hippos down below in the river whilst you have your meals is just amazing. It's so peaceful and calm it's just the most perfect setting for a safari.
The food was absolutely outstanding. Me and my partner didn't have one bad meal in the 4 nights we were there. The waiters were fantastic. So professional and nice. Every member of staff was so lovely to us and made our stay so special. The rustic African vibe this camp gives is amazing. The interior is fabulous. The tents are incredible. All private and secluded from eachother. Makes you feel like you're the only ones there. A special mention to our game driver Simon. He made the trip for me. He is an encyclopedia of knowledge on the mara and the animals. There is literally nothing he doesn't know. He learned us so much. He's so experienced and knows all the best spots to see the animals. He went above and beyond everytime we were in the vehicle with him to make our drives memorable and to see things we hadn't yet seen. He played a huge part in my trip for me and I was sad to say goodbye. This trip has been a dream of mine for so long and this camp will forever hold a special place in my heart and memories. Thank you all so much for being such great hosts. We will definately be back someday.

We had a great time at Mara River Camp and I can wholeheartedly recommend staying here. The camp has luxurious tents right on the Mara River - hippos, crocodiles and giraffes - to name just a few - can be observed right from your own terrace. But the really special thing about this camp is the dedicated and friendly team! I have never felt as welcome in an accommodation as I did at Mara River Camp - Joseph in particular is one that you can't help but fall in love with straight away. But the whole team is simply great and is redefining hospitality. The food and the first-class game drives complete this perfect experience. We'll definitely be back! Thank you for this indescribable experience!

The location next to the Mara River with countless hippos was exceptional.

We had a wonderful stay at Neptune Rianta. The accommodation was perfect, beautiful tented accommodation overlooking the river, woken by hippos every morning. The staff were outstanding, friendly and efficient, in particular, Daisy our wonderful waitress, Daniel our friendly butler and Daniel our masai safari guide who was incredibly knowledgeable and exceeded our expectations in every way. Daniel ensured we found every animal, providing us with detailed information and was so much fun to be with!
Mara Explorer Tented camp is awesome. The food was epic, the game drives were excellent and our guide was superb. One issue though is when booking all Inclusive we assumed this was all we would need to pay as this stated game drives included but it doesn’t include park fees which are an additional 100 USD per person per day so we were stuck with an extra USD 600 which we had not budgeted for. Make sure you have the means to pay the park fees in addition to any other costs. This does make it much more expensive. A cheaper alternative is the Nairobi National Park.

The conservancy was lively with animals walking around all day long. They could be even seen from your own room pretty close up.
Food options are good, the chef tries his best to satisfy every guest’s dietary needs.
All the staff around were very friendly.
The camp provides game drives within the conservancy and to the national reserve park.
