If you want to relax I guess this is the place, the swimming pool is big and very nice, you can see the staff cleaning it every day.
The food at the restaurant is simple but tasty.
All the staff is very polite and I think that is important to mention.
Apart from a young man and a nice lady, barely anyone else speaks english, but they will read if you translate with the phone.

A still very authentic village on Mekong's largest island.
A still very authentic village on Mekong's largest island. There is nothing much to do, but this is the village's special charm. You sit in one of the lovely restaurants along the Mekong, you let your gaze wander over the river any you watch the fisherman. The pace in this village is very relaxed, people are very friendly and all you have to do is to relax as well.
I highly recommend you to visit the morning market at the edge of the village. It is very special and you should come very early, at around 6 am.

This is a quieter location than the more popular southern islands of Don Det and Don Khone.
What I loved here is the quiet, less garbage and less tourist jadedness of the locals which I experienced on my visit to the southern isles. One day I rented a scooter and rode around the whole island and really enjoyed it!
If your aim is the waterfalls, kayaking, and lots of tourist facilities, this might not be the place for you. However, you can get down to the waterfalls from here by private boat which takes about 1.5 hours and a beautiful experience as well.
