The chalet was large, clean, private, with great air conditioning. The pool is clean with nice poolside seating. The staff was incredible. The food was delicious. We stayed only the night before a morning safari, but we would wish we would have booked the night after as well. This was the most relaxing lodging we have found in Sri Lanka. Thank you Kalu!

This place is in the middle of nowhere, which is a rarity in Sri Lanka and so good to relax and unwind. The hotel is peaceful and the facilities are amazing. The room had a comfy bed, balcony and room service. The staff were very pleasant, helpful and attentive to guests needs and requests. Be mindful to take everything you need for your stay as there are no stores around to purchase things. The pool was amazing, food delicious and surroundings peaceful.

This place could be great but : There is a lack of maintenance/inspection and cleanliness. I get that we are in the middle of the wildlife and having a few bugs in the room is normal but having 3 frogs is not something normal, having had a room inspection before our arrival would have been prevent this. Not mentioning the spiders and spider nets inside the bed mosquito net. The bathroom was not clean, the floor was dirty and no shampoo/shower gel were present in the bathroom. No food option available which is not convenient when there is nothing around where you can get food from. The staff who received us doesn’t speak English, I am glad we came with our private driver who was translating. This may have being great years ago but it’s not anymore.

it is extremely close to the Nationalpark so the perfect place if your only staying in udawalawe for one night. the staff was very helpful and friendly and dinner was yummy. our room was nice - we had a nice view the balcony, a big shower, comfy bed and ac as well as a fan. we booked the safari tour with the hotel which was super easy. The guide was friendly as well and explained everything to us. we saw at least 20 elephants and 2 babies - it was a great tour!

- The cabin itself is really beautiful, overlooking the water. Very peaceful to sit outside and just listen to the birds and nature around. The room was very clean, had a working AC and a mini fridge. The location is definitely secluded, our driver had difficulties finding the place but if you’re staying 1 or 2 nights it’s not a big deal. - Mila was nice and tried his best to make sure we’re comfortable. He provided the option for dinner there as well which is easier than leaving to town. Food was below average for Sri Lankan standards.
