The room was great - exactly what we wanted. The manager provided us with a wifi booster to amplify the signal in the room (without us asking for that). The food was good and the staff friendly.

We want to say thank you to Roshan and his family. First Roshan picked us up from the airport and we were welcomed by his family and staff. The first night we had a lovely Sri Lankan buffet and our rooms were amazing. Airconditioning worked really good and the bathrooms looked really good.
The day after we went on a safari and Roshan arranged everything. We had such a good guide who was also very polite. The best part of the safari. Our guide spotted a leopard while driving. We also saw elephants, water buffalo’s, crocodiles, deers and more. The breakfast and lunch on the safari was also very good and really enough.
The day after we wanted to go to Anuradhapura. Roshan and his wife drove us and he recommended a few temples that were close to each other and also not expensive. Afterwords he brought us all the way to Trincomalee. Roshan made sure everything was good for us during our stay and for that we are really grateful for
We had a amazing experience and we couldn’t start our trip trough Sri Lanka started any better.

I have never been on safari but we took a full day safari and I'm so glad we chose that option. We saw leopards, elephants, wild hogs, wild ox, a bear, three types of deer, howler monkeys, more birds that i could count. The variability of the landscape in such a contained area was incredible - wetlands, savannah, beach, lake, forest (several types it seemed). It was so so beautiful.

Safari is the reason to come.
Safari is the reason to come. A few animals seen exceot common ones (deers, buffalos, a few monkey). No leopards although it is sold as being easily seen (100 there). Nothing to be done except safari.
Real interest or unlucky experience ?

Ideally located for visiting Wilpattu Wildlife Park.
Ideally located for visiting Wilpattu Wildlife Park. We went specifically to see Leopard - and did on each of our four trips into the park. The Backwaters provided us with breakfast and lunch and plenty of water. A fabulous place, not to busy. Lots of different wild animals to see and enjoy in a total natural and well cared for environment. The Backwaters is an ideal place to stay for first-class accommodation, service, food - everything.

Wilpattu is a national wildlife game park.
Wilpattu is a national wildlife game park. You need to hire a safari jeep to go in to the park. You need to take your food with you if you plan to stay the whole day. Depending on your luck you will see all the animals or nothing at all. Great place to do bird watching.

Great experience, very knowledgeable staff and guide.
Great experience, very knowledgeable staff and guide.
Diner under the stars a memorable experience.
The safari so much a better experience for us and the animals in comparison t the chaotic Yala safari that we experienced weeks before (even with only 12 jeeps because of the April problems - it was still chaotic).
Would love to go again!
