The hotel is not far from the center. There are supermarkets and restaurants within walking distance. The price was super cheap and, overall, the cost vs. quality rate is fairly high.
The room has a small fridge which, considering the hotel does not offer breakfast, may be useful to keep refrigerated breakfast items such as milk, yogurt, and so on.

This hotel is my usual spot to stay in Riga. It has changed name maybe couple of times, and currently is under Rija group. I highly recommend VEF hotel, not only to solo travellers like me. Is a usual place to stay for different sport teams, also ideally suits for couples. To stay at same kind of hotel at heart of Riga, you'll have to pay 2-3 times more. The bus/tram stop is right near the hotel.

Staff were really nice. We were upgraded with breakfast. Breakfast had various choice. There was even decaffeinated coffee. Not expensive parking fee 9 eur/per night.
