I was looking for a place to stay in the West of Mauritius but was hesitant to book Tam Studio following all the negative reviews in a row below. However, i’m glad that i booked for one night. I honestly dont understand why there were so many negative reviews.
It is a cosy apartment furnished with all the facilities one could imagine. Quality service is provided for such an affordable price.
When i arrived, I was greeted by the owner, Mr Raaz who was very welcoming and even suggested places to visit in Mauritius.
He is very kind and was always available by phone. I have stayed in many places across the world but never met someone as kind and as dedicated as Mr Raaz. Even though i did not book the car and airport transfer in advance, he tried his best to rent me a car and even organised the airport transfer at a very affordable price.
I would definitely stay longer at Tam Studio during my holidays next time. Thank you Mr Raaz!

Teddy is a great host! Always supportive (offers advice or a lift or whatever you need) and understanding. His motto is „make yourself a home“. He suggested to move the couch so we could create a safe bed for our kid.
The accomodation is well located (near restaurants, supermarket and bus stops.
In my opinion the village La Gaulette is underestimated. Before we went to La Gaulette people asked „why are you going there?“ we know very well now: it is a small fisher‘s place clos to Chamarell, Le Morne mountain and Prairie beach.

We booked fairly last minute and so pleased with the outcome. We arrived and settled in easily with water, milk & fruit juice in fridge.
Very spaceous apartment with all we needed. Was clean & tidy, good bedding & towels. Good sized pool which we were lucky to have for our soke use. Relatively short walk to beach and a small selection of bars & eateries. Super market 15 mins max walk away.
Lovely views out to sea and across 5he tree tops.
Slept OK. It was a sticky night and AC was a little noisy.
We had breakfast included which was fresh & varied. All around a big thumbs up. Thank you.

Close to Le Morne and other attractions and places worth visiting, 90 min drive to Port Louis. Island is a paradise for botanical enthusiasts, hikers, climbers, fans of all sorts of water sports and beautiful reef fish, encounters with whales, dolphins etc.very friendly lovely locals and I felt very safe at all times, safer than in European many places. The clear water at the beach was exelent. The clearest seewater I have seen on the hole island! The surounding with the mountains are great. The beach is clean. No waist is liing around. not a typical tourist destination. However, great spot for trips and quiet place to chill before trips around the island - which is pretty easy to travel around. Great choice for families and backpackers like myself

Great location to discover southern part of the island.
Great location to discover southern part of the island. Close to many beautiful beaches, on many of them you feel like a private only for you. The underwater life could be better - large amount of bleached and dead corals in the lagoons. The village itself is nothing interesting, it doesn't even have its own beach. It's just a busy long road. But it has an ideal location with regard to the nearby beach and Le Morne mountain, the waterfall and natural attractions in Chamarel, or the Casela World of Adventures. Further south beyond Le Morne there are also some very nice beaches.

Much more peaceful that surrounding areas, and not at all overcrowded. Good supermarket. No petrol station, nearest is Tamarin. Much cooler than up north but not as comfortable as the east. Very good choice, all in all.

Upon booking, she sent me detailed information on accommodation and the surrounding area, so we felt confident moving in and staying there. The home has all necessary amenities, including spacious patio. There is a grocery store in 3-min driving time. You will need a car to get there and to travel around the area, as public transport is not very convenient, and taxis are rather expensive. (Keep in mind they drive at left side in Mauritius!)
