Many good quality restaurants of all types of food and price ranges to meet your personal budget, easy to get around, basic shopping mall nothing to wow about, great weather as it almost never rains and temperatures in mid 80 to low 90 april to September. As any city, get in the wrong neighborhood and trouble will find you, stick to business and hotel zones your good to go, San Carlos Beach awesome just 50 minute drive south, visible police without being overbearing, very protective of tourist as many Canadians and Americans are frequent visitors.

Plenty to do in peaceful Hermosillo there are lakes and beaches about an hours drive from Hermosillo. (Part of the reason for the quiet was that the hotel is in an area full of government buildings that were fairly quiet during the day but even quieter in the evenings after the buildings closed.) It was an easy 10 or 15-minute walk to the cathedral and other city-center locations. The breakfast buffet was creative, delicious, and different every day (the soupy Mexican-style breakfast beans, fruit, juices and cold cereals were the same).

Easy access to the laundry room and the gym. After being met at every hotel in Mexico with extremely great customer service, the Marriott could learn from their competitors. The front clerk barely spoke or answered any questions. On another note the kitchen staff was quite nice.
