It has a good breakfast, a big room, and a terrace with a hammock. The area is super cute, with many trees and flowers. It's super close to Uxmal. I like that the electricity is coming from solar panels.
Just across the street from the Uxmal Pyramids, and a 40 minutes' drive from Merida. This historic resort offers an outdoor pool and a working plantation filled with fruit trees and jogging trails.

This hotel is perfect from all points of views. We stayed in the same room, where once Indira Ghandi stayed. Very spacious, very beautiful even with stained glass windows in the room. Beautiful garden with birds, pool, parking. Within walking distance from Uxmal archeological site.
Posada El Jardín is an eco-friendly property that offers free Wi-Fi in public areas, sun terraces by the outdoor pool, and a palapa that serves coffee for a fee.
Offering an outdoor pool plus an à-la-carte restaurant, Hotel Puuc is located in Oxkutzcab, a small town 1 hour and 30 minutes’ drive from Mérida, Yucatán. Free Wi-Fi access is available.

I did not visit the town of Santa Elena but stayed at the Pickled Onions Hotel as a base to visit the nearby ruins of Uxmal.
I think Santa Elena makes an excellent location for anyone that would like to visit both Uxmal and Kabah as these are just few minutes away by car

Santa Elena is a little town, the church is my favorite there, there is a museum too, i just like the small town , the simplicity of the people, and the distance from here to all the interesting mayan sites
So far it has been the best hotel in our trip, in which we have stayed at 6 hotels, all good.
The maya style cabins in the middle of supple vegetation and trees are quaint and comfortable. Absolute silence and darkness to sleep.
Constant attention by the friendly English lady who owns the place. There is a life story behind this business.
Good food in the restaurant.
Good parking area.
Location is perfect if you are visiting the wonderful Uxmal Mayan city, and or Mayapan. Close to the highway that takes you to Campeche or Mérida.
Everything! Located one mile from Santa Elena this hotel is a perfect and relaxing stay for a much needed trip to Uxmal Ruins. It really is eco friendly and solar powered. The grounds are stunning and what a luxury to wake up to such beauty. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable with windows all the way around for a cross breeze. The staff are wonderful and accommodated my special dietary needs. I would highly recommend this experience if you’re planning a trip to Uxmal.
The hotel seems fairly new, with interesting room modules. I loved the hammock on the porch! Breakfast was good. Dinner is served there but the menu is quite limited. Because the hotel is "off the grid" there is no AC, and you can't use a hair dryer. Not a complaint, just be aware. The fan overhead was enough for sleeping. The grounds are very interesting, worth a walk around. We found it a pleasant alternative to staying in town. Very nice helpful staff.
A very well maintained BnB on the road ten minutes drive from Uxmal ruins. There is little road noise and the BnB is outside Santa Elena so very little village noise also. The Mayan style cabins are clean and comfortable with a roof fan and air con if needed. Delightful grounds, swimming pool and outdoor brekkie patio. All supervised by a lovely Lancashire lass who lends her name to the hotel! Dinner and brekkie delicious.
Ideal hotel for visiting day after Uxmal , wonderful maya site . Refreshing pool , i loved hammock above pool . I got 2 rooms with a small outdoor aisle between 2 rooms , ideally to have some privacy for adults and young adolescents with own room and bathroom . diner correct and very nice breakfast , better than regulary mexican breakfast standards . Lovely chat with owner .
Every detail was spot on. Our family of 4 stayed in the family cabana and enjoyed a serene afternoon by the pool, exploring the considerable native plantings that create a dry jungle oasis. The staff was so thoughtful, and with excellent food for purchase on site plus a huge breakfast included in the price, this was a highlight of our brief stay in the Yucatan.
The hotel is secluded and very quiet, yet conveniently located for visiting several nearby Mayan ruin sites. A car is very necessary to get there as it is tucked away 800 metres from the main road. The staff were friendly and very attentive. Lovely people and a very positive experience. Rooms are basic, not luxurious which suited us fine.
there is so much love and attention in this hotel. it’s supremely clean, fresh and thoughtful. everything about the place screams that it is run by someone who cares about the hotel and their guests. beds are so comfy, restaurant is delicious, fresh lick of paint everywhere and easy access to Uxmal and Rita Puuc. incredible place.
Very lovely, comfortable and unique boutique hotel nestled in a small town close to Uxmal and other ruins on the Ruta Puuc.
Friendly staff and a relaxing atmosphere after a day exploring Mayan ruins.
Good restaurant and an amazing breakfast.
Come for the breakfast and enjoy the rest of this wonderful,.small.hotel.
This was our second visit to the Pickled Onion. We love the lush location and cozy casitas. The staff is friendly and Valerie is very helpful. Great value! The area around Santa Elena is great. This trip we couldn’t visit some of the ruins, which are still closed, so we focused on Others.
Gorgeous setting in the Yucatán jungle. Extremely peaceful and relaxing. The staff is so kind - I had a stomach bug while here and the staff brought me tea and made sure I was feeling better. So hospitable and caring.
Beautiful hotel. Looks like a little paradise in the jungle even in the dry season. The food at the restaurant and for breakfast was good. The room was very nice and included a hammock.
Cute little boutique hotel centrally located in Santa Elena. Great refreshing pool, lovely restaurant, comfortable room. I'd recommend to anyone staying in the area.
Charming small hotel set in a garden. Convenient location close to Uxmal ruins. Super friendly owner, nice huts as rooms and pleasant garden and pool area.
