Absolutely loved our time here! Mara was a wonderful host and great to talk to and very happy to help. It was home from home. The farmhouse is beautiful and the kitchen extremely well equipped. We were the only guests for the 2 nights. The sun room was perfect for relaxing after a day’s exploring. Highly, highly recommend!
We had to book hotel rooms as we did not have linens with us but the price is way too much compared to the cottages. We booked a superior room. The kitchenette had 2 wine glasses, a sink and a refrigerator. No dishwasher liquid or a sponge. It was a bit disappointing. The carpet was overworn. The staff was great, very friendly and always ready to help. There is a restaurant on the ground floor serving mainly pizzas. Those were nice but nothing special. There is a market nearby withing walking distance.
Good location - very close to the town of Gaupne and the main road, but quiet and surrounded by nature.... 35 minutes drive to the glacier.
The cabin is spacious and properly equipped. We stayed for two nights and had everything we needed. Nice heating- we used it even in the middle of July....
It was was possible to sit outside all together and use the barbecue place. Kind host who offered to drive our luggage from the hotel to cabin as the coach could not drive all the way through. Nice view and the shops were in walking distance, friendly staff.
This hotel is interesting if you plan to go to the jostedalsbreen national park (we did the icetroll tour)
Supermarket is across the street and The hotel has the only restaurant we could find nearby in October
- The staff (at the hotel reception and restaurant) were very nice
- Very nice view from the cabin towards the mountains
- Possibility to order Pizza at the Restaurant nearby for take-away. Expensive though.
We stayed in a 2-bedroom cabin for two nights. The cabin was roomy and the kitchen was well equipped. The staff at Gaupnetunet were very helpful and welcoming.
