A beautiful home! We were two of three guests and essentially had the run of the place. The third guest had been there for weeks; he was a total sweetheart and great conversationalist. The bed was SO comfortable and cozy that it was hard to get up and get on with our days. The shower was a good size. It was nice to be able to cook our own food, especially since we were in town in the off season and most everything was closed but the little market. We enjoyed being able to drive all over the place (traveling without a car would be possible but effortful) and the surrounding mountains and fjord are GORGEOUS and full of history. We liked the option to wind down with a movie in the evening. I really can’t express how lovely a stay we had - wish we could have been there far longer!

My husband and I found the Walaker (and the village of Solvorn) to be a really special place. We had perfect weather for swimming at the beach, hiking up Molden for fjord views, and enjoying a glass of champagne in the hotel garden. Staff and food were excellent. The historic room had tons of charm. We only stayed one night but I could see spending a week to enjoy daily hikes, afternoon swims, and relaxing with a good book -- it's such a lovely, restful place!
