We enjoyed our stay, location was perfect. Close to everything shops and restaurants. We spent most of our time walking along the Wanaka lake and taking photos of the famous Wanaka Tree. Great view facing the lake and beautiful mountains.
Featuring panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, Aspiring Lodge Motel offers accommodation with a balcony or a private courtyard.

Large room. Convenient to supermarket and not far to walk to local restaurants. Parking was available. There is some view from the upstairs rooms.
Surprisingly, despite my complaints, had a comfortable sleep.

The lake frontage with stunning views of the mountains and lake and choices of eateries catering for vegetarians
Good parking but roadworks made it difficult at times to get around
Would recommend the Big Fig for vegetarians and Charlie Brown for great crepes

A wholesome town just outside of Queenstown.
A wholesome town just outside of Queenstown. I could've stayed here weeks. It was a great location to be based at for Roy's Peak Summit, more hiking and days spent by the lake. Bonus activity was a dinner and movie night at Cinema Paradiso. A really lovely town with a very live-able atmosphere.

Wanaka itself is a lovely spot.
Wanaka itself is a lovely spot. It was lovely without being too much of a tourist trap. The art gallery I visited was very good, and the two local restaurants also good and reasonably priced. The staff at the Thai restaurant were especially friendly and helpful. I wish I had stayed long enough to drive out to a few places from Wanaka.
What a place! The apartment is stylishly designed, furnished to a high standard, well equipped and the hosts are fantastic. Kauri House Apartment offers a great place to stay in Wanaka. Bill and Noelene are kind, generous and hospitable hosts. Their level of hospitality is really over and above what you might imagine. And breakfast? Also superb. It really would not be out of place in a high end hotel. If you get the opportunity, you should book Kauri House for your stay in Wanaka - don't even hesitate a second!
Everything was perfect! Location couldn’t be better! A really cozy apartment with a fireplace for cold times and an A/C to fight the intense heat of summer. Excellent kitchen with everything one may need. Super good and modern shower. A deck with a wooden table and chairs with the lake view for meals outside. And of course a super friendly host!
Definitely the best hotel among all those that we stayed in during out trip on the South Island!
The rooms were very comfortable, modern and clean. They seem to use a central heating system rather than individual heaters, so the room was kept warm without becoming stuffy. The onsite restaurant, Amigos, is really handy to have and appeared popular with guests as well as non-guests. The location is excellent, walking distance to the lake front, with plenty of parking available behind the hotel. Would definitely stay here again.
We have stayed here about 5 times now and been upgraded twice! :) The location is perfect for us. Easy walking to town centre, and close to Mt Iron, river bike/walking tracks, supermarket and maze. Kids love the playground and pool, and they have bike storage and excellent wifi. Our go-to accommodation when visiting Wanaka. Our daughter also loved how well the staff looked after her toys!
The hotel is centrally located with easy walk to shops, restaurants and lake. Parking is next door and you are given a hotel sticker for display. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room is of average size but also has a balcony with a view. Room had everything we needed for our stay. Bed was comfortable and there was ventilation.
This was a SPECTACULAR home away from home, close to town with magnificent views of the lake and snow capped mountains. It felt like a home not a hotel, and we were so comfortable for our stay in Wanaka. The beds were comfy, it was warm and had everything we needed.
The rural setting was beautiful. Waking up to SILENCE was FABULOUS !! Unlike staying in a motel or hotel .... there was no-one else to make noise or interrupt your stay .... THAT, made it all wonderful. We would stay again and recommend it to family and friends.
Hands down the best place to stay at while in Wanaka. The view from the balcony is exceptional!! The property is in close proximity to many restaurants, super markets and the lake. The amenities provided were great and we had a wonderful stay!
Great location, walking distance to village centre of Wanaka or other parts if you want to explore. Lots of good walking trails nearby. 2 pools and gym facilities. Comfy beds and having your own garage and washing machine etc is very helpful.
This hotel is exceptional. The lake views are gorgeous and the staff goes out of their way to accommodate their guests. The apartment is cosy and well-stocked. We can’t wait to stay here again; it was hard to leave!
This property was excellent, so much better than any Motel or Hotel. Beautifully presented and exceptionally clean. Lovely home made breakfast, with lovely people. Also received the recipe for homemade bread.
good location 2 blocks back from the lake - this also meant it was a bit cheaper
had everything you'd expect from a self contained 1 brm apartment
friendly helpful staff member on reception
The rooms were tidy, staff were helpful & friendly and bar with pool table was fun. The kitchen and dining area was good to socialise. The hotel dining area had a nice view of the lake
The Brownston Hostel was perfect for our short stay in Wanaka. The host was friendly and helpful. We liked how convenient it was to town. This is a great place to stay in Wanaka.
