The staff was very friendly, the room and view exactly what I hoped, and the location was great; 20 minutes from almost everything in Aveiro. You could hear a train in the distance, but other than that it was a very quiet and safe area. And Uber's are an easy way to get further away.

All the staff and the hotel itself were charming. The sweet dark chocolate bedtime gifts were extra-special. Highly recommend staying here--such care and attention to every detail.

Aviero is beautiful. The town centre has amazing Portuguese style buildings, the streeets are very clean, it is all very walkable and the gondola trips are very reasonably priced and leave from the canal in the central area. These tours are in multiple languages, so suitable for everyone. The local restaurants have all types of great food at very reasonable prices and local supermarkets and shops are really good value. People are friendly and helpful. Loved our stay there.

Lots of tourists in Aveiro at the weekend, many on the moliceiro boat trips along the canal. Lovely way to sightsee if weather is good - it was quite hot before Easter but with a cooling breeze. The multi-lingual guide on the moliceiro gave detailed and interesting information about Aveiro, especially the Art Nouveau and Art Deco buildings as well as the stunning modern architecture. Also the fishing history of Aveiro was explained well.
Lovely walks alongside the canal from MELIA hotel, quiet and very little traffic until you arrive in the centre. On Sundays many market stalls selling numerous antiques along both sides of canal.
Back street walks are full of interesting surprises, traditional tiled buildings, sculptures, cafes, restaurants and bars. Very easy to walk around and explore or cycle on numerous dedicated cycle paths. Also excellent S Joana museum and art gallery in centre.
Good place for a long weekend or even a week if you also want to get out of centre to the beaches.

Aveiro is a charming city with fantastic food and friendly people.
We are moving there, that is how much we like it. It is much cleaner and quieter than Porto (where we have lived for the past 3 years.)
There is lots to do, shopping, eating, sites, boat rides, museums, to name a few.
There are lovely cities nearby as well. Ovar, Costa Nova, Águeda and Ílhavo. As well as Coimbra.
It has a great central location 2 hrs from Lisbon and less than an hour from Porto.

Aveiro is a beautiful city overall, my favourite place is the Ria of Aveiro wit his colourful boats and the Barra's beach with his colorful wood-houses as well.
I ate in a restaurant near the shopping centre Forum. I've rent a car from Lisbon to get around so I didn't need a public transport but there's a bicycle in the city to rent to get around which is very useful.
You have to go to a restaurant on time between 12-15 otherwise it won't be easy to find a place that open till late for lunch.
I like traditional restaurants around the city instead of the fast food ones. In Portugal the food is amazing!

I regret not being able to explore the city thoroughly during my visit. Nonetheless, I had a delightful evening at a local pub, which turned out to be a truly enjoyable experience. The people in the city are remarkably warm and friendly, adding to the overall positive impression of my brief stay.

Seeing pictures and videos of Aveiro was excepting more then what I saw. Those who say Aveiro is Portugal's Venice they must not been in Venice. For us it was waste of time to stay overnight. Maybe it was due to construction that was going around the city center. I was very disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend staying overnight. Maybe quick stop on your way.
The hotel's public areas are beautiful in the classic style. The room was large, well-decorated and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was ample and included hot food and a lovely cake, among many other choices. Staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is slightly away from the center, but an easy 10-15 walk away from the sights. There is on-site underground parking for 8 E per night. The little courtyard , complete with a koi pond, is lovely.
Great hospitality, excellent off-center location with private parking included (you need a car - bicycles no longer available since covid). Nice swimming pool and well equipped super clean appartment. There is an option for breakfast but we did not had any. The owners are super with a very good attention for detail. I definetely recommend this place - only 10mins drive to the lovely Aveiro center...15 min drive to the beaches.
this hotel was truly a perfect hotel in the truest sense of the word. The man at the reception was very kind and very helpful. Although the staff at the hotel did not speak English, they helped us a lot and it was a really friendly hotel. Only the location is far from the center but everywhere was very clean. If you want to relax and get away from people, you can choose this hotel. You will definitely not regret it.
Location is near every attraction in Aveiro town center. Dozen of restaurants and bars within 5 minutes walk including Forum mall. Rooms are big and nice. Bathroom with bathtub and a strong shower. Staff was extremely nice and helpful including indications where you can park for free if you have a car (even they having a paid parking at the hotel). It was really a good surprise.
After being in Portugal for 2 weeks, we were ready for this clean and comfortable modern apartment. The location was perfect for exploring Aveiro and beyond (Sao Jacinto, Costa Nova). Paula was an amazing host, very organized, making check in easy and we appreciated her suggestions for sights and restaurants. I can’t think of anything that could make this stay better.
Absolutely fabulous apartment, very well located and beautifully laid out! With a scenic view over the canal - one could hear the occassional hooting as the Moliceiros went by below. Such a lovely ambiance. Conveniently located across the way from the lovely Forum Aveiro shopping centre. Would love to stay at Avenida 60 again! Highly recommended.
The hotel is beautiful, but the staff are what make this hotel stand out, as their attention to detail is outstanding. From check in to check out their thoughtfulness was great appreciated! The hotel has great amenities and has thought of everything. The breakfast was great with many choices! We also had a message which was also very nice!
Amazing place to stay in Aveiro in the heart of the center. Very good place to eat in the front of the guest house.
The lady at check in was very nice and explained us everything.
Go to the beach COSTA NOCA a BARRA..we liked it more than Aveiro.
Nice big rooms with shower and great place to relax.
The hotel is close to Aveiros centre and a quick walk from the boats attraction and the mall, there plenty of safe parking spots surrounding the property. I liked the place, its quiet and comfortable, I would definitely consider this place in a near future.
Thank you for hosting us
The hotel was located in a very central location in Aveiro, made it easy to walk around, get to restaurants. The layout was well done and they utilized the space well, and we booked the balcony apartment above the restaurant entrance, so we had a bit of outside seating.
stunning atmospheric hotel in the center of Aveiro. spacious rooms with everything you need and a comfortable bed, perfect cleanliness and friendly staff. very tasty and varied breakfast. located close to the center. ideal for a good holiday
Very nice family room in the center of Aveiro. Nice size bathroom with clean towels available. Very nice and friendly stuff. Room for a family or a group of friends. Beds very comfortable, and the bunk bed was stable and useful.
Great little hotel in a quite area of Aveiro. Easily to reach from the train station and City Center as well as restaurants are in walking distance. Basic breakfast available and very helpful and friendly staff.
Very friendly staff at reception and in the breakfast room
Simple but good breakfast
The hotel had a nice common areas to relax / read / play cards
Great location, just on the edge of the old center
The best bedding in all of Portugal! Fabulous accommodation and rooftop terrace. Small but stunning breakfast room on the roof level. Excellent location right on the canal.
Location was fine but not in Aveiro Town, so used taxis a lot. Breakfast was good, but not up to others we have had inPortugal. Staff were helpful and polite.
