Stayed here with two others for a golf holiday, rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, hotel was in a great location only a few minutes walk to bars and restaurants and the balcony was also nice and large. We got to check in early around 12:30 in the day which was nice as we got to spend the day around Monte Gordo. Sofa beds were comfy and was great value for money for what we needed for our holiday.

Monte Gordo is lovely and quiet. In April anyway.
Monte Gordo is lovely and quiet. In April anyway. I know the Algarve and I can tell that Monte Gordo is the Opposite of Albufeira. Diferent kind of tourism. Less boozing.it hás the pinewoods where you can cycle or walk or Run, Vila Real de Sto Antônio is close by and there are markets on some weekends
It is very close to Spain and Ayamonte is a cute place to visit or within less that two hours drive you could BE in Seville.
Also close by is Tavira and its many churches
Loads to see

Monte Gordo's beach is amazing. You can walk for hours! The boardwalk is great with lots of toilet facilities. Many great eating places and mini supermarkets make Monte Gordo a perfect place to visit. We caught the local bus in and the local train out. A car is not necessary.

We love the beautiful sandy beaches and safe water.
We love the beautiful sandy beaches and safe water. Plenty of walks along the beach to Vila Real and Praia Verde. Buses to Tavira, Ferries to Taviraa Island and also to Ayamonte for a taste of Spain!
Everyone is friendly, there are numerous cafes and bars along with some very special restaurants. You could spend all day just eating and drinking!
We happened to be there for the Golden Pigeon Race - what an atmosphere! We also witnessed murmurations of starlings on two mornings. On one visit we spotted dolphins and every time we enjoy watching the fishermen take their boats out and return with their catch. We have seen many changes to Montegordo over the years and look forward to returning many more times in the future!

Monte Gordo was an excellent place to stay for around a week. There were some excellent restaurants and the beach was great for long walks, even if the water was too cold to think about a dip!!
The town was quiet and clean and offered some trips to nearby sites that were good for a visit. A great area to cycle around and not far from the Spanish border if you fancy a trip over

The beach is amazing, you can walk for miles either way, lots of restaurants along the beach but a lot are seasonal,a casino within easy walking distance, everywhere is quite flat so great for cycling along the special cycle ways
Lovely little hotel with very friendly staff. Better than expected for a 3* hotel. It was not located in the prettiest part of town but had a cosy and friendly feel to it. It was good value for money with a very varied and adequate breakfast buffet included in our price. A three-course dinner was offered at a reduced price for residents and better value than local restaurants. The reception, bar and catering staff could not have been more helpful and upbeat. They have been well-trained.
If we return to Monte Gordo we will use the hotel again.
Apartment is very clean, spacious and comfortable. They did the bed and cleaned the bathroom daily (some aparthotel do not do that). Five minutes to the beach in a very quiet area. Three minutes from a grocery store. Was on upper floor and could still see the sea on both sides of the building in front of us. Staff was very welcoming and helpful. We were two couples with two rooms and we both were very pleased with our stay. Would strongly recommend it especially for the value of what we paid. I would definitely go back.
The room was like a flat very well equipped .we had our own private terrace overlooking the pool and beautiful garden which has lots of fruit trees ( avocados, apples, pomegranates, lemons, mangoes Etc)
This hotel is a little oasis of happiness and peace.
I expected to hear noise from the main road but it was so quiet and relaxing.
Great place and great value for money!
Also the hosts are very friendly and helpful.
I recommend this place to everyone !!
We had a spacious apartment with sea view. The hotel has a splendid location next to the beach and next to the pinewood. The athmosphere in the hotel is very friendly and relaxed. The hotel paid extra attention to hygiene as a measure against the spread of corona. The region is very attractive (Vila Real, Castro Marim, Tavira, Rio Formosa). Sunny weather and mild temperatures come as the best imaginable bonus !
We visited Vasco da Gama 40 years ago and the hotel is largely unchanged; it has remained authentic to the period in which it was built. We loved the pool area and snack bar. The beach has beautiful white sand, has a gentle slope into the sea and is long and good for walking.
The bedroom is large, the bed is too comfortable. It’s near from the center of Monte Gordo city. The balcony is large. The breakfast is over the top, with varied and fresh food. The reception was warm and we got a place in the parking, what it was too good!!!
I loved the size and layout of the apartment, it was easy to feel right at home. The apartment is also located very close to the beach, it’s a quick 3 min walk, which was great! Good and clear communication with the host and quick return of deposit.
Excellent service. Great breakfast. We had such a good rate for staying and the hotel exceeded our expectations. The room and bed were comfortable, with air conditioner and very clean. Location is excellent too.
Nice staff and hotel was exceptionally clean. Everything is within 5 minutes to walk from the hotel. Room was splendid with a lovely balcony and nice spacious shower.
