Stayed in a dorm….low season so pleasant stay.
Dinner and breakfast was very nice.
There is an outdoor pool… too cold so didn’t test it.

The host was available even before our arrival, providing all the information we requested. When we got to the little house, fireplace was on, very cosy and warm, and there were some local treats. We had most meals in the house, it was quite pleasant, although we could not get the toaster to work.
The surroundings were very sweet, very rural, and the Buracas are quite something, plus a lovely walk from the house.

I ended up at the fantastic museum National Museum Machado de Castro (highly recommended) in Penela, only to drive away 2 1/2 hours later and pass by so many other beautiful and amazing buildings (part of the University) I wish I had more time to explore :)

Penela is a remote place but accessible by a good network of roads in excellent shape. It is surrounded by farmland and the "villages" are small and quiet. Restaurants exist in Penela and around. I recommend the place for a good rest.
The rooms are very nicely equipped with a big and modern bathroom. The staff was very friendly and helpful with all of our questions. The breakfast was good (we had bread, jam, ham, cheese, a little Joghurt and drinks), but nothing special. The hostel is in the center of Penela and we had free parking opportunities nearby. For the low price it is a excellent place and I would definitely return to this hostel
The facilities were great - I've booked this hotel specially due to the fact that it had an interior and exterior pool, which exceeded my expectations. Also, there was sauna and steam room available without extra costs.
The room was very cozy and well cleaned. I will come back for sure!
The hotel is just amazing, perfect for a family week. The staff was super attentive and always ready to support any need. It was our wedding's anniversary and they prepared a special moment during our Dinner.
Modern interior. Nice Turkish steam room and pool. Good breakfast. Bar had nice snacks. Hotel provided robes to use the pool. Beautiful area and short trip to visit the Roman ruins and museum.
A friendly place to stay in a convenient location right in the centre of Penela. The accommodation is like a hotel in many ways with some hostel-style facilities such as a communal kitchen.
Penela is just great. The staff is really welcoming and there´s a vibe that surprised us a lot, the bar is quite fun and lot´s of international people around.
Everything was really good. The staff is specially friendly. We had both breakfast and dinner and both meals were very good. I totally recommend the hotel.
