Exceptionnal! Fantastic house, extremely quiet, very lovely hosts (both speak fluently French btw). Freshly renovated in a very high standard. The hosts newly planted a kiwi field a few meters lower than the house, and we were honored to be the first guests to try! If you want to stay in this part of the Portugal, this is the place.

Considering we stayed one month, it wasnt long enough. if you love unrestricted access to mountains, waterfalls, the fauna in northern Portugal. the genuine friendliness of the people, and the food, Gee Wizz , come and enjoy what they have on offer, an example of the local people, we were climbing a steep road at the foot of a mountain near Ermal, and passed by a man cutting brush, once he realised what we were attempting, he gave us armfulls of fruit from his house, Kiwis, Apples, and Oranges, Just smashing, what a lovely guy.

There's not much to do in the city, however there's everything you need, since restaurants to supermarkets. It is a great choice for travelers going to Gerês since is very near and accessible. The hostels are clean, calm and cheap, something you might not get in Braga, Guimarães and Vila do Gerês

I wish that I could recommend this facility. The staff was very helpful and tried very hard, but there are several issues that need to be addressed. The room was fairly small, but the view from the balcony was lovely. The bathrooms need upgrading and towel hooks would be helpful. A shower that doesn't require an advanced degree to turn on would also be nice. The food was good. The location was lovely, and the hotel is undergoing remodeling, but based on my experience, I cannot recommend.
Simply put, this place was a dream. Peaceful secluded location with hiking trails accessible from the property. Cozy yet spacious treehouse cabins with incredible views. The region isn't touristy so many of our hikes we saw no one else. The breakfast every morning was an awesome heartfelt touch. My wife really loved all the little details that made the cabin extra cozy. Everything was spotlessly clean. We'll be back.
You have million dollar views. Amazing staff. Isabella walked me around her garden and showed me her mint plants and tea leaves. Her flowers and orchard. Yes they dont speak english but just use Google translate. It's so easy that way. It was cold to enter the pool but guests were sunbathing around it. Dinner we did 1 night and very nice to do it when the hotel is full otherwise it's just you. Always helpful.
We really enjoyed our stay in this piece of heaven on earth. It is such a lovely place with the stylish appartement, the scenic garden, a refreshing pool and the canopy bed as icing on the cake. On the canopy bed we lay hours reading Harry Potter to our nine-year old twins.
Overall, the Green Roof House was the best of 7 different accomodations we had during our Portugal journey.
Very pretty place in a lovely location and with great staff, but but … all this good stuff was marred by super basic problems with hotel maintenance and guest comfort. Getting into a hotel room when you want to - or indeed getting out of of your room without recourse to a step ladder or staff help - along with working Wi-Fi in the room as promised, are super basic requirements
This is by far the most amazing accommodation & location we have visited in Portugal ever. Simply breathtaking views, a space to relax your body, mind and soul. The staff and the breakfast was amazing. We wished we wished have stayed a week longer.
Thank you for the late check-in, Obrigada Aline & Manuel
The location was beautiful and the setting was picturesque. We were on the side of a mountain with a beautiful view of the valley and we were able to walk to town for coffee or a light dinner. There was ample space and the setting was very serene and safe. The wifi worked fine.
Amazing place to stay a few days and relax. Near the beautiful Gerês, its landscape, surrounding nature, hot water outdoor pool, spa, tranquility, nice rooms, nice breakfast, very nice staff, invites us to stay there once again.
Stunning scenery. Friendly staff. Great wine. Perfect pool space - we spent most of our time relaxing there. Comfortable rooms with A/C and views. Close to outdoor activities like hikes and rivers. Highly recommend.
Stunning views, comfortable mattress, cleanliness, good breakfast. The shower is great. It’s not a luxurious hotel, but the room was very clean, nice, and seems new. The restaurant was good and not expensive.
Beautiful enormous property.
Very friendly and helpful hosts.
The area and views are breathtaking, all you want to end days of roadtrippin in the endless nature of Portugal. Thanks to the playful puppy aswell.
Amazing experience. Helpful staff, tasty breakfast with several diet options, tasty food at the restaurant, breathtaking landscape and comfy facilities/spa that truly enhanced our visit to Gerês
The view from the balcony is stunning. The room is rather clean. There is a parking near the hotel. The breakfast is not exceptional but quite generous. The staff is super friendly!
very spatious property with interesting farm antiques. Owners stocked the fridge with ham, cheese, fruit drink and milk, and offered Portuguese buns in the morning.
