The house is in a beautiful place. It has a great garden for breakfast/dinner. Very good facilities. Our room had a private bathroom outside but it was not a problem for us.
Dinner was delicious (gulaş)- 65 lei per person. Nicoleta was especially kind.

It’s a cozy little cabin with sufficient space for 5 or 6 adults situated in a quaint and quiet village. The interior is decorated in a traditional fashion that adds to the experience and the facilities are more than enough, with a kitchen and a barbecue. What made this cabin stand out for us though was the kindness and thoughtfulness of the owners who surprised us with homemade traditional dishes and beverage and set us up with wood and charcoal for the fire. They went the extra mile for us to feel right at home and that really impressed us!
Offering quiet street views, Breb Casa Luca is an accommodation situated in Breb, 5.6 km from The Wooden Church of Budeşti and 7.9 km from The Wooden Church of Deseşti.

Very warm and hospitable host family. The room has all the modern comfort with traditional exterior. Shower was warm with good pressure. Mosquito nets were installed on all windows. The mattress was comfortable. This is an authentic Maramures experience where we got to stay on an operating farm instead of a curated touristy guesthouse. The family of 3 generations remained busy with their daily work. Due to my friend's food allergy, we did not dine with the family. However, Luca and his mother still showered us with tea and cakes. We appreciate the quiet and serene backyard too. Come and experience for yourself.
Featuring garden views, Pensiunea Teodora Breb Maramu provides accommodation with a garden and a balcony, around 6.4 km from The Wooden Church of Budeşti.

Lovely place in one of the most beautiful and quiet towns or Maramures.
If you seek rest and contact with local people, Breb is the perfeft option, and within Breb, the family at Teodora’s might well be the most welcoming and endearing.
Do not miss the opportunity to have breakfast and dinner and taste their excellent traditional cuisine.
Such a beautiful little hamlet! The fields surrounding Breb are gorgeous, with some looking like rice terraces. Very safe village with authentic Maramures wooden houses and farm land. Best kept gem in Romania!

Bréb is a beautiful, calm village where you can see real and authentic village life and a lot of animals.
The wooden houses and doors are wonderful, in summer everything is full of flowers. It is a good startpoint for excursions to Maramures, UNESCO churches and much more.
We tried two places to eat, Casa de Dochia and Bréb 148 Local Food and Garden, both were fantastic with excellent food and very nice people.

Nice, traditional village.
Nice, traditional village. Beautiful strolls in and around the village. Very popular by Rumanians who come over during the summer hollidays. Hardly any foodshops and the few that are there and badly stocked. In case you are selfcatering you better bring food from the market in Sighet.

One of the best places to eat is Breb 148 Local Food and Garden. They prepare delicious meals and the view is quite spectacular. There is no music playing in the garden, so for that reason alone it became my preferred place to hang out. Another one is Casa Dochia, traditional restaurant and boarding house, which serves traditional food from the county of Maramures and very good horinca (alcoholic drink specific to the area). Word of advice: if you are a vegetarian like me, there aren't a lot of options for you, so be prepared to eat polenta in various combinations throughout your stay.
It is fairly easy to get around Breb because there are a lot of signs indicating where the most popular places are. Casa din Vale was our choice for accommodation and I would sincerely recommend it to anyone who wishes a quiet, care-free, relaxing vacation in traditional, wooden houses.
One of the trails towards Creasta Cocosului goes through the village, not far from Casa din Vale if you have a desire for adventure. There are also horseback riding options in the village or you can visit traditional artists at their homes and experience the magic of woodworking or pottery.

Quaint little village, old wooden houses and very welcoming people. Will cater to all ages and all types interested in rural tourism - this is what Breb does best.
The surroundings are beautiful and the lifestyle is like the place was frozen in time. Highly recommended.

I almost don't want to recommend it for fear of tourism bringing too much change, but that would be selfish. Breb is an oasis of peace, tranquility and an opportunity to still experience life and tradition that didn't see much change for 100s of years, although change is happening. It is a rural village that is welcoming and has facilities, but not a place if you are looking for all the home comforts and retail and food outlets. Breb offers a base for exploring this beautiful part of Romania and there are tourist opportunities for visits and experiences through advertised groups.
