Iasi is a busy, vibrant city with lots of restaurant options and a very large shopping mall with top end shops right in the centre of the city. Tourist attractions are nearby, but I chose to make the three hour drive to the spectacular mountains and amazing scenery. Iasi and Romania were full of surprises and nothing like my preconceptions. I felt extremely safe in the city and people were very pleasant and helpful everywhere I travelled.

The city centre is amazing, hence I recommend visiting Iasi for a few days, but not any longer or further from the city centre. I graduated from Iasi 10 years ago and expected some visible developments for the rest of the city, but with the deepest regret I suggest travellers to stick to the city centre. It's a generally safe city full of history but can, unfortunately, look forgotten.

Is full or history and places you can visit to better understand the Romanian culture of Moldavia. There are many important churches and ortodox cultural heritage. There are many options to travel around the city and it is safe and clean. For the food options you can get access to all the international cuisines and fast foods but also the traditional restaorant.

I liked the old city with many churches of all religions and a big pedestrian area. 3. I especially enjoyed hanging around in the new Gradina Publica Palas, right below the impressive Palatul Culturi!
