Location is great within 7 minutes walking distance from Golubac center. Same time to get to Golubac Fortress by car. Very spacious and comfortable for a family with two kids. Very clean.
Now is the winter period. It's not crowded. The place is interesting, with a nice promenade along the Danube. Several restaurants offer great food. The fortress is exceptional. The curator is great, but the presentation was only in Serbian. However, everywhere there are signs in Serbian and English.

One of the best spots in Eastern Serbia, and Serbia period.
One of the best spots in Eastern Serbia, and Serbia period. Spot where Danube is the widest - Golubac Town 6000m (6km), Mali Kazan (the narowest ???), and Veliki Kazan (deepest - 98m). All 3 within 20min+ drive of each other. Fisherman's paradise.

The best part of Golubac are the fortress and the Danube, which is 6.1 km wide and 63 m deep. It's like a lake.
Nearby is another Ram fortress which is tidy and beautiful to visit.
Silver Lake, which is becoming an increasingly strong tourist center, is attractive for its atmosphere, bathers and the coast.
Tumane Monastery has its own "healing" story, so it should be visited.
Of course, there are also Viminacaium and Lepenski vir, two archeologically important places.

The area of Golubac - Veliko Gradishte is very beautiful, there were separate bike lanes. Despite our winter visit, it was beautiful. We visited the Rama Fortress, passed the Silver Lake, the Golubatska Fortress and the museum of the first human settlement in Europe - Lepenski vir.

Golubac is one of the pretiest sections of Serbia that I have seen. There are two sites one must definitely see when visiting Golubac, one is the Monastary and the other is the fort. There are also some other forts nearbye and the lovely silver lake. There are two nice cafe's in the city center, which have a nice atmosphere, one is City Cafe and the other is Nana cafe. Take a stroll on the cornish or locally known as the kay. I feel in love with this region of Serbia, I hope one day, I will go back for a longer visit. A must to see!

I found Golubac to be clean wherever we walked.
I found Golubac to be clean wherever we walked. People were friendly and helpful. I noticed that where there had been work done, like on the walking area by the River, it had been finished with detail. Clean and everything back where it should be. Plenty of lights and plenty of Bins for rubbish. People were aware of the Covid 19 virus and I had the feeling that they were concerned about others rather than themselves. They put masks on when they were near others. Restaurant was virus free, the staff attacked any potential surface as though it was the normal routine. I wish that other places (countries, clubs, bars and restaurants worldwide etc), would be as vigilant, then perhaps this pandemic would be contained and understood more. Thanks to all you Golubac Residents and people who made our stay totally enjoyable.
