Fantastic location, in the middle of nature. The accommodation was basic but, clean with cozy bedrooms. The host is very friendly and their cooking is wonderful! Best pad krapaow I ever had!

Most of our eating was in the Katiliya Resort so I cannot comment on any other food. Our travel was done using vans from the resort and tended to be to places outside Mae Salong Nai such as Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai and Doi Mae Salong. It would have been great to be able to hire a small motorbike (a common form of transport in the area) but could not find any hire outlets for motorbikes. I was impressed with the calm courtesy shown by drivers (of all vehicles) for other drivers. I can recommend a tour into the mountains to see some wonderful temples, tea plantations and the art and crafts of the hill people.
I loved the remote location of this resort in the mountains. The resort is so much more beautiful than the photos. It had a heated pool and the food was amazing. The staff can't do enough for you!!!! They upgraded us to the honeymoon suite and my husband and I loved it. The hotel arranged a driver for the day for us and he took us everywhere. To book tours and drivers it is best to call the hotel. They speak English. It takes a while for them to reply to emails.
The rooms are huge and the grounds of the hotel are lovely however the best thing is the view from the hotel! Especially from the restaurant it’s a lovely place to have breakfast and lunch. We ate at the restaurant 3 times, the food was amazing 2 of the nights however on our last night we ordered the same food we had previous nights and it was average so I presume there are different chefs which may be why.
The rooms were spacious and the staff attentive. Pools are maintained well. The amenities were lavish, if dated. Floors had been covered with wood laminate a few years back, and the laminate has separated in a few areas. This was the only detractor to an otherwise excellent facility that is off the beaten track and provides a refuge in the beautiful natural setting of Thailand's northern hill country.
Firstly, the staff including in the restaurant are doing an amazing job. They will go above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your stay.
The hotel is overlooking rural areas and forest. Both the sunrise and the sunset should be experienced here. You will enjoy this place if you come for peace and quiet.
The food was also very good, especially the northern Thai dishes.
The sunrise & sunset & night star view, the huge room & bathroom, the huge hotel area for us to walk around (for pictures and simply enjoying nature), the restaurant that serves amazing food (we had 3 meals there and loved everything), the real fireplace, the heated pool, the cute cats that laze along the walkway
The resort is like a hidden paradise in a mountains. I really liked place and design, many details. Good breakfast on an open terrace, nice beautiful spa, comfortable bed and beautiful view from all point oh hotel
Superbly located hillside hotel, easy access to Golden Triangle, tea plantations and Mae Salong town. Rooms are comfortable and authentic, staff are lovely and it feels like a great escape to nature.
Beautiful hotel with outstanding location and views. If you want just to relax and not think about anything this is the place to go. Food in the restaurant was excellent and delicious.
