The property is unique nostalgically. Good to introduce to foreign friends. Staff are very kind and understanding. They stayed up for us as we arrived very late in the mid night.

If history and old Chinese architecture is your things, Lukang is a can't-miss.
Also, do go to the Glass Temple (臺灣玻璃館) out by the coast at sunset. The lighting and surrealness of the experience is truly memorable.

Great historical spot; as a cultural centre of Han Chinese in Taiwan, the whole town gives a sense of history. The whole of the cultural area can be reached on foot within a day.
Some places need a good refurbishment; the place would look beautifully refined with some care; some of the architecture and craftsmanship (the sculptures, wooden door and window frames etc) must have been their best of the times in their heyday.
