This place was better than I expected in ways. I was looking for something cheaper. I knew it was an older property but it was so comfy by myself, I felt safe. Homey. There were no other amenities that I saw other than my room. That was what I wanted and I was pleasantly surprised.

Rhonda is probably the warmest and kindest host we could have ever met. The house is happily situated at the top of a hill. The room is super comfortable and the house is with details of early 20s. We've encountered 3 cats, all curious or tolerating (with our kid around and poking). The breakfast is superb, and Rhonda's coffee is perfect for the morning. We enjoyed our stay very much. We certainly hope we'd come to Sonora and visit Knowles Inn again soon.
I don't like booking a place under false advertising!
I don't like booking a place under false advertising! Booking.com had this place listed as a free breakfast included- which, I found out was NOT available at all! This is the 3rd or 4th time that I have caught Booking.com in false advertising! That is just wrong! One time their ad said tge place had refrigerators, and they were not available at all. Fortunately I called the property before, and had to cancel and find another place. I shouldn't of had to do that!! They should update their ads, so people know exactly what they are getting!! I will no longer use Booking.com. I would rather call the actual property, and know what I am getting!

I know the town is small and everything however there were no restaurants that we could find late night or early morning. I went to Patti LaBelle and Gladys Knight concert in Murphy's. The hotel stay saved a night drive home.

We went specifically for an all day event. Traveled 5 hours to get there. Our time was limited, but we intend to go back to "explore" the area. There is so much history and Angels Camp is such a quaint town.

This small western Sierra foothills town is just starting to reopen after more than two year of Coronavirus restrictions and shutdowns. Restaurants and shops openly welcome new customers. People are friendly and just want the small town to survive. Didn't encounter any rednecks or weird people at all, which is unusual in most of my travels. A very memorable trip.

Quaint antique stores, the "Hop of Fame" celebrating the annual Frog Jumping contest annually in May since 1865, and many nearby historical sites featuring gold rush era and Mark Twain. Be sure to stop in visitor center and Utica Park . Read historical plaques around town and on buildings.
Great value with breakfast included at a central location. Kids really enjoyed the room and the accessibility to the parking lot was wonderful. Wish we got a chance to spend more time at the hotel. The breakfast was one of the highlights of the trip for both kids and adults.
Amazing place!! We had no idea we had booked a resort until we arrived! For the price of a regular hotel, we got a full kitchen, living room with balcony, and bedroom with very comfortable bed. Oh, and the hot tubs were a blessing after working long days!
Quaint and charming single-story hotel in a good location, with cozy rooms and comfortable bed. Convenient to the rest of Angels Camp services and attractions. Very well-maintained historic property.
Beautiful part of the country, cute little town with history, the hotel exceeded our expectations, updated clean big rooms, loved the laminate floors and hot tub, comfortable beds...great staff.
