The Main Street district boasts a couple shops and a nice restaurant. The visitors center was undergoing renovation. The Civil War Museum is private, there is a fee, and is well done. Nice gift shop. Nice restrooms. The Battlefield and McLean House and adjacent buildings had a couple docents on site, was well maintained.

The attractions were very good, lots of information.

The attractions were very good, lots of information. Only took a few hours to see everything. The town itself has very little. A few shops, eateries and fast food places. I think one day would be sufficient to see everything. The hotel, The Inn at Appomattox was very nice. Clean, comfortable, nice breakfast, staff very friendly and answered any local questions we asked.

Well worth the visit—we all need to learn more about our history. Site of General Lee’s surrender to General Grant during the civil war and its beginning of the end of the war. Park ranger talk and film were excellent

An excellent destination for Americana well known for its moment in history. Excellent for history buffs and those interested in learning more about the country's history. Especially since Appomattox is one of the reasons for the country we are today.

The Covid virus caused many of the local tours, businesses and shops to close and the extreme heat prohibited us from walking about too much to the ones that were open , so we spent a lot of time at the hotel. We ate our takeout food in the lobby, swam, lounged around the pool, and played card games in the comfortable cool lobby and got an occasional drink from the bar. It was all very relaxing and the staff was friendly, courteous and always on hand to assist in everyway. The Civil war museum was very informative and easy to get around in a wheelchair and had plenty of places to sit. We got food from the Taco Wagon and it was the best Spanish food ever! Better than Chipotle! Wish we had one here! Getting around town was easy and the foliage was beautiful.

Well Even though I have spent a good portion of my childhood here... I still feel like there is soo much more to learn. I think more time is needed!!! Lovely area really. If you look deep...there might be more things you never saw. Surrender grounds is a must and if you want a crazy good burger spot then it has to be Bull Daddys with awesome burger names for a cool historical reference They even have a burger called the Appomattox....crazy.

If you're visiting the historic Appomattox Courthouse area, this is the perfect place to stay. This Inn is small enough to provide really personal service. From the very nice woman that checked us in late in the evening, to the wide selection of breakfast items, everything was great. And the place is super clean - even the bathrooms. It didn't smell like the typical hotel room either. I was really impressed and if we're in the area again, we will definitely stay here.

First we booked smoking .was informed smoking rooms were being worked on. As we are checking in maintenance worker decided he would use our room for toilet so reaked of urine and rushed out of room and left door open. Exit door supposed to be kept locked was in fact tied with shoe string to open freely. Breakfast from 7 too 9 was out at 8. I will never use this motel hotel chain again and I will inform all family and friends.

The Magnolia Room was extremely welcoming and comfortable. Having a nice sofa in the room made it easy to curl up w a good book or watch TV without sitting on the bed. The host was friendly, accommodating, and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. Access to the entire first floor made us feel right at home and relaxed. Can definitely recommend Longacre to others.

The house was gorgeous, everything was clean and well maintained. The room was spacious and comfortable. I stayed here to visit family in Appomattox and the common rooms were perfect for spending time with them while I was there. Everything about our stay was communicated well, and everyone we met was very friendly.

Everything about my stay at this adorable B&B was fantastic. The owners were so accommodating, they even woke up extra early to put out the continental breakfast as we were in for a race. If you're traveling to the Lynchburg Appomattox area, definitely check it out. Unicorn California and I'm the adventure behind

The Super 8 was easy to get to and the staff member that checked us in was friendly and helpful. The room was clean, if a little musty, but overall we were happy. it was just a basic room with no frills, but that’s all we were looking for.

Location was great - close to the Park at Appomattox - reason for visiting. Breakfast was good - lot of choices and food was warm. The "cook" does a great job. The staff were friendly and very helpful.

The booking company had messed up our reservation but the hotel clerk did a great job of figuring it out and making sure we got the correct room and that we didn’t get overcharged for it.

Room 224 had an ant infestation. We didn’t bother to report it because the entire hotel was visibly booked the entire weekend. I wouldn’t recommend staying at the Appomattox Inn & Suites.

The bathroom was exceptionally nice. The glass shower enclosure, and heat light were a nice touch. And the exhaust fan was greatly appreciated, I wish all hotels had them.

Great location to stores and places to eat. The Appomattox heritage hiking and recreation trail are directly behind the hotel which was very convenient to walk my dog.
