Offering an indoor pool and a fitness centre, Holiday Inn Express Wichita South is located less than 1 km away from Interstate 135.

Was not allowed to stay do to a pet. The online information said pet friendly and was told at check in they did not allow pet and not Holiday inn express allowed pets. We have stayed their in the past but it did not matter. We were going to stay two nights but were charged as a no show.

In the heart of Old Town Wichita, this hotel offers turn-of-the-century style furnishings with modern amenities such as free Wi-Fi and 37-inch flat-screen TVs.

Loved the style and ambience - maintained despite refurbishment taking place of the fourth floor. Lounge area is superb with excellent complimentary coffee. Room was very comfortable and well equipped. We could also walk to many city sites of interest. Parking was right alongside and a path dug out in the heavy snow. Excellent breakfast place just across the street - ‘Egg-Cetera’.

    I stayed for 3 nights and really enjoyed my stay. Located right off the Turnpike and easy to find. The room was clean and breakfast was good. They also are next to a Jump-start and close to the Kansas Star Casino.

    The room was immaculate.

    The room was immaculate. The location is right by the interstate on-ramp, so there was a selection of other hotel guests. Be wary of the stairs to the second floor. They are concrete, but they do need some refurbishing as they are warped and can catch on your boots or shoes

    Staff hid out.

    Staff hid out. Had to ring bell to get then out of wherever they were. Breakfast was a joke. Food and coffee ran out at 7:45 and when staff was notified, he only made coffee and brought out a half dozen cold biscuits, No refills on hot food. If a breakfast is important to travelers, I will advise them to not stay there. Room is adequate but bed and pillows are the hardest i have ever slept on. Grounds had trash in front of doors, Empty liquor bottle and cigarette box and butts and leaves. Worst staff service ever.

    I was annoyed at the endless toll booths in Oklahoma - which I had to travel through to get to Haysville - and the first thing that I encountered after leaving the hotel in Haysville was yet another toll booth as I was getting onto the interstate. Haysville had nothing of interest to me other than a bed to sleep in on my way through. I will avoid that route on my return trip from California to Florida!

    We chose this location for the night because it was the best location, but turned out to be even closer than we expected to the places we wanted to go. We were impressed with the cleanliness and comfort of the room. We didn't bring our pets, but we saw several with dogs. The clerk was friendly and personable. We will keep this place in mind if we spend time in Wichita again. Don't be afraid of it sounding so far away, it wasn't any more than staying across town.

    Much to my surprise there was a "fart" fan in the bathroom. Every hotel/motel I've been at lately doesn't have one. The room was very clean and didn't have that "motel" smell. AC was "COLD" and the curtains were total black out which is another #1 in my book. I will definitely be staying there again when I make a trip back to Wichita.
