My daughter had surgery one day and a Dr. appointment the next. We stayed one night. We ate at the Mexican restaurant that you can walk to from the hotel and it was delicious. My room was downgraded because they did not have a suite...
My room was downgraded because they did not have a suite available when I got there and didn't refund me the difference. They took my payment from my card before I arrived when the website clearly stated pay when u arrive. They didn't have room keys bc the key maker was down so they had to manually let you in your room any time u left. Very annoyed. The room was ok for the quick trip that I needed it for. Property was clean but could be better maintained. Minor imperfections gave it a shabby feel. No major issues. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was minimal continental plus a waffle maker. I liked all aspects of Hillsborough.
I liked all aspects of Hillsborough. We enjoyed the huge selection of restaurants. We ate at the Mexican restaurant located down the hill and near the entrance of the hotel. We also ate at Wendy's and Hardees which were very near the hotel. Getting around Hillsborough was quite easy as we followed the very frequent and clear signs on the roadside. One of our favorite activities in the area was visiting and shopping at the Tangier Outlets.

The hot tub was very nice, the room was one of the biggest I've ever stayed in my life, and they had three flat screens in each room. Hillsborough is a very cute little historical town. You can definitely spend a day or two in the town and see what it offers. They preserved the historical architecture of the town. Also, the Colonial Inn's complimentary cinnamon rolls were magnificent. I highly recommend a stay over there.
