The guy working the front desk seemed nice enough. When I reported smelling marijuana coming from one of the rooms near me, he did take the time to walk around and see if he could find where it was coming from.

Ridgecrest, for a small desert town offers more than expected in dining, coffee options, and a TON of work-out clubs, which is a nice option for me when traveling. Patriots bar is a great place to get a few drinks. Classic burgers in inyokern a few min away have the best burgers in town. There is other restaurants that are good if you dont want burgers for example sushi, thai food, Mexican etc.....

Ridgecrest is a hidden gem along the Owens Valley 395 with plenty of eateries and accommodations. Its about a nine hour drive for us from Tucson, AZ which is just about as far as we like to go in one day. The next day is another 5-6 to our family cabin at Lake Tahoe, Ca. Just a couple miles off the main Highway, Ridgecrest is easily accessible. One of our favorite places for a bite to eat and an ice cold beer is at Schooners, a fun lively sports grill with good food and great service! Located on Norma Street. Really nothing much to like about the town, it's on the way...
Really nothing much to like about the town, it's on the way to lone pine and bishop, the sierras are accessible from the turn off to chimney peak/kennedy meadows which is nice if you don't mind a 50 mile drive up on some very narrow and curved roads but it's very scenic if you like that sort of thing.

Most restaurants were open with Covid19 restrictions. There's a Super Wal-Mart on the south side of town for your shopping needs. All hotel facilities in Ridgecest are occupied by a large number of contract workers repairing earthquake damage at the Naval Weapons Center.
