The location is very nice, among nature, with a nice pool and littles bungalows all around. The staff is nice, even that they don't speak English at all, it was a bit difficult to communicate then, but that's quite common all around Vietnam!

The island is well connected with regards to transport, all be it needs some improvement on minor roads. A fair amount of things to do from Grand Word in the north and Sunset Town in the south with the cable car.
It can be quite expensive to eat out and visit the attractions.
The people are super friendly and accommodating.

If you like a beach holiday with plenty of sunshine then go for it BUT, beware of the rubbish problem on the beach and in town. Taxi service is good and always use local contacts not via hotel reception. Our hotel had a free shuttle service to and from the airport. There are quite a few trips you can take but we didnt have time in our schedule. We did walk into the town and as usual was amazed at what the Vietnamese can transport on a moped/bike. It is warm with high humidity and we had almost 3 showers a day. Phu Quoc is not as busy or congested compared to Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh and was actually a welcome break from the chaotic madness of the above. If you decide to travel to Vietnam and travel around we were glad we done north to south as you end up in relative calm

Brilliant island which offers you a calm and pleasant experience. Enough attractions for kids and couples looking for some private time. Connectivity to the city is very simple via local transport which is free and is available 24/7. Just ask at the reception of the report or hotel and you will find all the details. Food is nice if you are an explorer and local restaurants offer great variety and taste.

If you go by ferry to and from Phu quoc, be prepared for a bumpy ride! On the way back I spent all my time at a toilet in the rear. However, it was my own fault as I should have taken medicine against motion sickness prior to that 1½ hour long journey.
About the Island itself, it is really beautiful, perhaps in parts a bit touristic which didn't disturb us that much since we rented a motorbike on three occasions so we could explore every hidden jem both north and south, like the starfish beach, the zoo with safari, remote fishing villages, the big pagoda in the far south and lots of other places. But of course, the main street in Duang dong can be extremely busy in the evening, as was the entire town on Tet (New years) eve. But there is a really good air conditioned bus service which is for free.
And so lastly a note about the cable car in the far south which we never booked for it being so hugely overpriced, at least if, like us, you're traveling on a low budget.
great clean beach with very wide sand line - big enough to play volley, football and still accommodate the guests on the beach sunbeds
sunset kayaks - nice activity with kids or a romance for couples
pools- clean, big, great for families w kids
wonderful breakfast w great variety
spotless rooms- clean, new, space enough
we celebrated our wedding anniversary and got a special romantic decor with rose petals inner room- a compliment from the hotel
kids club activities (fish feeding, stone painting) and morning yoga were great too
Happy to come back to the place after four years break. Like on my previous visit, the resort is really awesome: calm, serene, buried in verdure and blossoming bushes. Located in quite secluded and quite place, however is close to Long Beach as well as the main road with plenty of cafes and bars.
The staff here is extremely caring and hospitable! I’ve never felt so welcome as here in any hotel or resort.
The villa was clean, spacious enough, with beautiful outside bathroom.
The hotel was affordable and in a good location with direct access to the beach, and plenty of shops/restaurants near by. The breakfast was okay.
The island is recovering from COVID so I think many hotels like this one lack the funds to invest in keeping everything on-site fully operational and to a very high standard (they need more customers to generate the funds, so don't be too put off by bad reviews. If you want 5 star you need to pay much more elsewhere!)
Well maintained properly, pool area was lovely and there was lots of greenery.
Staff were really friendly and helpful and it was easy to arrange moped hire or laundry services.
The hotel is close to Ong Long beach which in my opinion is one of the very best beaches on the island (much better than any near the centre or down south). Sunsets here were incredible.
Lots of restaurants nearby, some atm’s and a couple of mini marts.
Sang, the manager, and most of all the staff in the resort were really really helpful & supportive to our group. Our group had some problems with the transportation hence the check in to the hotel as well as many other small little things became messy. But Sang & the team there was so supportive and made us feel warm by their care & extra service with heart. thanks so much guys. Sure we come back and see you guys next time
It’s very good value for a hotel with a swimming on the beach. So convenient to have the beach less than 50m from the room.
It’s also in a small alley with many restaurants, bars with live music and massage spas. They also did a great job booking an 4-island tour for us. Great view of the beach (and sunset) from the balcony of our room. The restaurant is serves tasty food on the beach. The breakfast room has nice views.
Sunset Beach Resort offered the perfect balance for our vacation. We spent mornings lounging on the beach, enjoying the stunning views. The afternoons were perfect for exploring the island with rented scooters (thanks to the staff's recommendations!). In the evenings, we enjoyed delicious food at the beachfront restaurant and were mesmerized by the fire shows. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.
A nice hotel, has its own beach. Comparing to other hotels on Long Beach, this is one of the best hotel beach area. No trash, sand is cleaned. Palms create shadow, a lot of sun chairs, and very helpful staff.
Good for those who want to relax laying and doing nothing.
Nice breakfast with both Vietnamese and European cuisine.
Every day cleaning.
Everything is nearby: restaurants, supermarkets, services.
Beautiful experience from the start, I was sad because we couldn’t stay a few days longer (there were no rooms available). Breakfast is 10+, the pool and the beach are very nice although they’re not that big. My child got a toy (small puppy) that he adores. I’ve lost my baseball cap on the beach but the staff had found it and sent it to the hotel where we were after the stay at Salinda 👏
This was one of the best budget hotels that even outperformed some expensive hotels that I stayed at before in Vietnam. Both guys at the reception are super friendly and helpful, the cleaning ladies are also very friendly. The room was top-notch clean, and all of the necessities (like shower gel) are always refilled. Probably the best hotel in Phu Quoc for the price.
I recently had a wonderful stay at this hotel, and I highly recommend it to others. The hotel's central location makes it a convenient base for exploring the island. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, ensuring a pleasant experience throughout my stay. I would definitely choose this hotel again for its ideal location and welcoming staff.
Lovely spot on the beach. We had a villa and private pool which was divine to wave up to the sounds of waves crashing against the shore. The spa has a lovely range of services. We went to the Treehouse restaurant outside of the hotel which was a short walk down the beach and up a quiet road. Very relaxing stay.
The most beautiful resort and hotel I have ever stayed at! Truly an indulgent experience! I haven't experienced such well-trained and accommodating staff in many hotels before! My room was the most beautiful hotel room I have ever had. I loved my room and everything about my stay (except the food).
Amazing little hotel!!! Everything is super clean and cute. Highly recommend it and would definitely stay again. It should be a 5 star hotel. Location is also perfect, short walk to a very nice beach. Love it. Great value for money.
The service quality is incredibly excellent, with staff and hotel owner being very enthusiastic, attentive, and always ensuring you have the best moments at Hung Vuong Resort. Booking and check-in are also extremely easy and quick.
Super nice staff, resort is in great condition and quiet, pool and bungalow are excellent, you will always find space. The pool bar is quite expensive, but quality of food is above average. Best breakfast we enjoyed in Vietnam
Room is spacious enough, with affordable price. The hotel is located in the very centre of Duong Dong, yet could be very chill and quiet at the same time. The pool is lovely.
The staff was very helpful and professional. I think Anja has the best view comparing to others hotels & resorts in the same area. Room was clean and comfy.
