DC was so professional and welcoming. Food was great and the room was lovely - we especially liked the balcony table and chairs for tea at sunset , a beautiful way to spend some precious familytime .

Beautiful place, most extraordinary views of the Magaliesberg and the weather was hot but we had a few thunder showers to keep the tent cool in the evening.
A lot to do in the area. Adventure around every corner.
Will definitely recommend Hekpoort as a weekend break away.

I would suggest, regular fumigation or at least put some doom/raid in the rooms and peaceful sleep for the bugs
It was very hot and the fan, did not help much(,please consider air-conditioning in future)

Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The spa treatments were good and worth the money.
My TV was not working for the duration of the stay; there was no water in my bathroom on the last day; the facility played loud music daily so there was no peace and quiet; the toilet would run water without stopping sometimes.
The experience was bad.

It was perfect, we loved the tranquility promised by the establishment, the sound of birds, ducks and an occasional troop of baboons from the mountaintop. Great hiking trail and our host, Pieter, was kind and helpful.

There are a lot of activities to do in Hekpoort. Lots of lodges in the area. We are quite limited because of our dietary requirements. We thoroughly enjoyed Saddle Creek Adventures and the Spa facilities at Mount Grace

I liked the fact that this establishment is at the country side, its far from the busy and noisy life of the city. The guests who wish to go there and not go out until their departure day should make sure that they buy and pack all essentials that they will need as the shopping mall is bit far from the establishment +- 25 minutes drive.
The lodge is really beautiful, just like the photos! Cottage had everything we needed and beds were really comfortable. We had the place to ourselves which was awesome. Just a note that often both the mountain and valley lodges are booked out by groups, which means the hotel restaurant isn't always open. So either bring all food with or be prepared to take a short drive to neighboring lodges for restaurants. We went to Esther's for dinner which was excellent.
There was a gardener only on-site. There was no helper. The sheets in the room I had to use had blood. The place was not prepared to host us. It was a total disaster. I ended up leaving and booking at Hotel 224. We did not use the place coz it was not usable. Hence, I'm asking for a full refund.
