We arrived slightly late but were made to feel very welcome. Comfortable lodges with space enough for four to eat together at a good sized table. Very good breakfast provided in the rooms by friendly staff

Dusk to Dawn is a wonderful place to stop over. I wish we could've stayed a little longer to enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the farm. The unit was absolutely wonderful and incredibly spacious. The breakfast was such a treat, so much choice and delicious. We arrived late in the evening so we emailed ahead and ordered some of Gudrun's pre-prepared meals for dinner, which were warmed up and placed in our unit ready for our arrival - such care was taken to ensure that when we arrived after our long days drive we were well looked after.
Deo Resta Guest Lodge offers free WiFi. Every room is equipped with a patio. All units at the guest house are fitted with a flat-screen TV and a kitchenette.

Although it was simply for an overnight stop, we enjoyed the apartment so much that we could have made it our escape from the city
What a brilliant concept! It accommodated all my needs.
What a brilliant concept! It accommodated all my needs. The owner was not hard to reach whenever I needed directions, the staff members took great care of me and the place is clean. If you are a nature lover, need a peaceful drive out of JHB and some alone time … I definitely recommend the place.

The owners were welcoming and friendly. The place is quiet and beautiful with beautiful mountain view.
The room was perfect, big and clean. There was loadshedding in the area but it did not affect us because other means were provided for us to have electricity.
We loved and enjoyed being served delicious breakfast. We will definitely go back there soon 🥰

Convenient, clean, well appointed, quiet (except with generator at times - load shedding) and very friendly staff. Great as a stop over to Sodwana. Only negative was the not so great pillows. Would definitely stay here again.
Dinner at Munch, only a few km’s away, was really good.

Piet Retief(Mkhondo) is a truck town... but the people are so lovely. Very helpful with good schools and dentists! We enjoyed eating at Munch, Mama Mia, Spur, Ilanga Decor and Wimpy. All provided good service and was clean and friendly. People are generally happy to live in PR.
We got to know the town fairly quickly, it's not that big, but unfortunately the Home Affairs was a downright disappointment... which was one of the reasons we were in town.
We felt fairly safe, we received good references for alterations, churches and food but they can do with a Woolies Foods! The Pick 'n Pay was well stocked and generally the suburbs were clean too. The main city area is pretty hectic with people, but we didn't feel violated at any time. God still lives in Piet Retief.

There is no tourist attractions in Piet Retief.
There is no tourist attractions in Piet Retief. We went there for a road race and stayed for the whole weekend. There was not much to see or do after the race. The restaurants are excellent though.
Firstly, they allowed us an early check in, three hours early at no additional cost, which was great as we had travelled for some hours. The bed was comfortable and the way the family and triple room is structured is very nice when travelling with kids. We were not squashed as the kids had their own beds. Some hotels expect you to sleep with the baby. They have a microwave and a mini fridge which was also very useful. Overall, I would use them again.
Everything starting with the experience of sleeping in a bubble, food, spa treatment, jacuzzi and brilliant service by the staff. The owner Rohan is very friendly, took his time to come greet us, served us with a smile and also accommodated us when we needed WiFi connection. Overall it was a great experience for us and we will definitely visit Piet Retief Bubble Valley again and recommend this awesome property to friends and family ❤️
The rooms are neat and clean and quite spacious and have everything you need, including TV/free Wi-Fi/fridge. The facility is right at the main road but still quiet. Lovely Charlene just became my new favourite host out of all my travels through South Africa as she and her staff make Piet Retief a worthy stopover. Breakfast and dinner at the adjacent Mama Mia restaurant were as exquisite as it gets.
The location was a perfect half way point for us to stop on our drive to Kruger National Park from Durban. The house was great for our short stay. It had a large king bed that was very restful and very comfy couch, TV with netflix and a little kitchenette. It met all our needs and was comfortable and quiet. I would recommend this accommodation!. We are staying there again on our return to Durban.
Forest Hills is located on a working farm 22kms on your way to Piet Retief from Paulpietersburg.
It was very clean and modern with large rooms.
The owner awaited our arrival even though it was after 7pm. His good mannerism and etiquette was palpable although we could barely see him in the night
Room was comfortable and clean, lovely big shower ,great value for money .Breakfast was very good , we had a delicious supper that our host Jaco organized for us ,Vredenhoff Bed & Breakfast is a little gem in the heart of Piet Retief , conveniently located close to shops and restaurants .
Location is good - property is in close proximity to most shopping centra. The smart television allows guests to watch movies, etc. The bed was comfortable - one side could do with a side table though. Parking area close to room a plus. Security fence around property.
Safe and secure parking. Large, spacious room. Very clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Good Wi-Fi. Even started a generator during Eskom load shedding. Helpful with boiling water during load shedding. One of the best places to overnight in Piet Retief by far!
The host and hostess were present to welcome us and very helpful. We loved the room, comfortable seating on the verandah and in lounge areas, and all the birds in the garden. Very relaxing. Great breakfast and good recommendation for dinner.
Just 18 km from Piet Retief (Mkhondo) Guest Farm is situated in a valley beautiful scenery. Loved the farm pond caught some Bass and talapia great fun. Had friendly service from staff. Would recommend this place to family and friends.
The tranquility of the well kept garden and the well maintained facilities were refreshing. This coupled with the value for money makes this my first choice for accommodation in Piet Retief.
