We loved the Botanic Gardens and the Zoo, bonus it was free and clean. Riverside cultural district was a bit dissapointing, nice enough but nothing to do apart from walk through it, we did some of it but better off walking up the top along Quay Street to take in the lovely old buildings. Mt Archer skywalk was awesome, such a lovely view back over Rockhampton from up there. We also did the Capricorn Caves, it's a must see when in the area that's for sure! Yeppoon and the Keppel Coast was beautiful but we needed more time spent over there..next visit hey!

Rockhampton is a great place to visit, it has so much to offer no matter what You are looking for. Plenty of restaurants that cater to pretty much any cuisine You like. It has some of the best pubs I have ever been to with atmosphere, food and entertainment. So do Yourself a favor and visit and see what Rockhampton has to offer.

We have been to Rockhampton many times.

We have been to Rockhampton many times. There is an awesome Botanical Gardens/Zoo in Rockhampton. The riverfront historical buildings are interesting and the waterfront Criterion is a great family pub with excellent food. The Mt. Archer Lookout and walking trails are a must visit. The shopping and markets in Rockhampton, Yeppoon and Emu Park are terrific. Emu Park, Yeppoon, and The Caves are also must visit. When you arrive, visit the Rockhampton Tourist Information Centre as there are a lot of other things to see and do in Rockhampton itself.

Our trip was a two and half day to Cairns which then didn't leave us any touring time. When it came to food my only advice, stay away from servo's not an option we will recommend. When searching good food/diners in Rockhampton remember to do your research because we ended buying local take-away and eating back in our motel room, VERY SAD & NOT SATISFYING.

Busy town. Lots of accommodation. Selection of eateries.

Busy town. Lots of accommodation. Selection of eateries. Plenty of appropriate shopping options for all. Clean. Lots of touristy things to do and look at. Peak hour traffic is a bit slow. Rocky can be a bit disjointed being on both sides of the river. Generally, an easy place to get what you need when you want it.

It was filthy and no glasses or cups for a drink. Approached reception staff who were very nice but they then got the Manager ! He was the rudest person and said l couldn’t have cups etc due to people throwing them over the balcony !!!!!!!!!!What that ? Didn’t say we could have plastic ,he yelled at us saying we can get out of the hotel ! It was disgusting ,he was swearing and we were happy to leave ! It was after 4pm and lucky we got another place for cheaper and very clean with lots of extras !

The property offered a nice Pet friendly room - prob a bit of overkill for 1 person as it was a family room with 3 beds. the manager had taken ill the day I arrived and the poor staff were struggling to understand the procedures - prob best to train someone in the event of an issue… the room was far more quieter than Zed hotel down the road and probably cleaner. sheets towels were all clean fridge tv all worked well - box aircon but ok

The apartments were a very welcome stop-over whilst we travelled to an from our Northern Queensland holiday destination. The apartments were spacious, clean and well appointed. Access from the main highway was easy, with the location sufficiently distant from the main thoroughfare for restful sleep. Worthy of much longer stays for those considering holidaying in Rockhampton.

An 1890's hotel with a "grand staircase" -- all restored to really good condition and right on the river in historic downtown. Very good restaurant and "drinking saloon" on 1st floor, with some old time favorites like meat balls over mashed potatoes with gravy, as well as steak, etc. Exceptional value for the money, I thought.

Nice fully renovated room with quiet air conditioner, decent bed and plenty of chairs. Good location on North approach to Rockhampton within walking distance to variety of takeaway eateries and Tavern. All ground floor units which we liked. No stairs! Reasonable price. We will stay again.

Quiet location with excellent onsite facilities. Apartments are clean and modern, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. A little further out of Rockhampton so a vehicle is needed. Perhaps some onsite pushbikes for easy ride to local shopping centre.

Small, cheap hotel room attached to a pub, rooms were clean and had every thing you need. Very good value for money and the staff are friendly; there's an awning to park your car under right outside your room to keep the sun off which is great.

The Denison Boutique Hotel is a good place to stay in Rockhampton. The room was quirky but had a massive four-poster bed and great bath. Location-wise, it was a short walk from the town centre and had a good local pub/restaurant opposite.
