The hosts were absolutely wonderful, and really made you feel like home. It is a beautiful family owned house, with rich history and comfortable amenities. It felt like a home away from home.

Very well decorated and maintained, Olive Grove provided all the amenities you could want. Exceptionally clean, with access to local personnel if a problem arises (which none did). Still managed to fill up time with the Waltzing Matilda Center (amazing), a guided tour of the Rangeland Rifts and the Age of Dinosaurs. You must eat at Tattersalls.

The staff at Outback Motel were knowledgeable about activities in the town and places to visit. We did the Rangelands Tour and Dinosaurs Tour with Red Dirt Tours. They were very friendly and efficient would recommend them.
We visited the Tattersalls Hotel and the Waltzing Matilda Centre for meals.

We stayed for two nights in Winton and loved it! It would have been great to have an extra night but we still managed to fit in a trip to Lark Quarry, a drive through Bladensburg National Park, including a visit to the homestead and shearing shed (the most pristine one we've ever seen!), the Waltzing Matilda museum, a visit to the Dark Sky Observatory (a MUST do!) and the Dinosaur Museum. We also visited the pool and waterpark - on a 41C day - which was FABULOUS, and the outdoor cinema (which was fun but we would have preferred to see a movie rather than the old style experience, which was what was on offer for us). The pubs were great, the coffee shop/bookshop was a terrific find. This is a great place for a family holiday, and our Olive Grove accommodation was just perfect for us.

The age of dinosaurs and Waltzing Matilda centre were just amazing. So educational and engaging. The work that has been put into these is incredible. The bakery makes the best pies and apple turnovers.

So much to see and do with so much great history and displays. Their history and Dinosaur displays were incredible and the Dinosaur Stampede display going back 90 million years plus their museums including the Waltzing Matilda museum which was one of the best I have seen. Just great

The Dinosaur Museum is an absolute must!
The Dinosaur Museum is an absolute must! So is star-gazing at night time. The Waltzing Matilda Centre was a bit expensive but keeping outback history and culture 'alive', and it was fun to see the original Waltzing Matilda by Banjo Patterson.
The location was right in the middle of town, opposite the festival we had come to enjoy. There is very little hotel/motel accommodation in the town other than caravan parks. The hotel is over 100 years old and it looks every one of its days! It appears to be in near original condition in some parts; for example, the pressed metal ceilings. There has been an attempt to modernise some parts but certainly not recently; perhaps in the last 50 years. The new publican Joe was absolutely charming; carried our bags for us.
Absolutely amazing matilda was above and beyond the hospitality was next level I could not recommend staying here more it's walking distance from everywhere you want to be the pool the grocery store down town. musical fence and age of dinosaur are out of the way fine with vehicle they do have a car park . As travelers, there are tours to these sites. It's a cute little stay and one of the first motels built in the town of winton adding to its charm in all staying here was like staying at grandparents house
Perfect quiet location for exploring Winton. Pubs and the town centre were in easy walking distance, allowing us stretch our legs after a day exploring and enjoy the fresh air and stars. The back yard was green and private and a great place for breakfast, a lazy afternoon on the grass or in a hammock or stargazing (even when the sports field was lit up!). Fowl and sheep occasionally wandered past the common area over the back fence for added interest!
OMG - Steve the manager went out of his way to ensure my stay was comfortable and well worthwhile. I was very lucky he mentioned the Age Of Dinosaurs attraction and also suggested the Winton Hotel for my evening meal. The location was excellent, i was able to walk to the Waltzing Matilda Centre, and there is awesome coffee across the road. The added bonus was seeing some wild Brolgas come in for their morning feed.
A very comfortable unit in a really handy location - walking distance to main part of town. Immaculately clean with every amenity needed on a long road trip. Great fridge with freezer - able to store provisions & freezer blocks. Comfortable bed & spacious bathroom with great shower. A great place for a 2 night stay in Winton.
The house was excellent, Winton was very cold at night so we hit the hot outdoor bath after the opera, it was fantastic, sitting with the garden lights off and star gazing. House and bedrooms were warm and cozy. All of the kitchen items and supplies were great. Well done guys.
Really great place to stay at, most likely the best in Winton. The pool was great, I spent 2-3 hours in there talking to Craig who worked at the place, really friendly guy, we shared many good stories ! Definitely the place to stay at if you're spending the night in Winton!
Gorgeous cabin with a big, beautiful back yard for the kidlette to play in.
Comfortable beds, especially after a 1200km drive!
A great little home station to call our own for a couple of days while we explore the great town of Winton.
The NGH is a very historic hotel. The current building dates back to the 50s and our room certainly showed its age. The location is as good as you could ask for, smack bang in the middle of town on the picturesque main street.
clean, comfortable and quiet motel. Close to hotels for dining out. Friendly and helpful staff. Under cover parking which was great on a hot day. Would definitely recommend this motel to any traveler.
The atmosphere of the traditional hotel is awesome. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Loved the big front verandah that we could access from our room. Meals were delicious.
