We were heading home from holidays and only needed one night before travelling home the next day.
We found the Kookaburra Motel by accident and so happy we did.
As we had limited time we didn't really get to have a full monty experience with the Kookaburra. but we will be going back again and to stay at least two nights.

Youngaburra is a charming village near Lake Tinaroo. A nice place to wander and quite a few places to eat. The local pub is the 2nd largest wooden pub in Queensland. The people are friendly and the temperature is mild.

We arrived the day of the markets and enjoyed the morning there where we purchased local produce and hand made crafts. We walked along the creek in the afternoon on our way into town and got to see platypus in the creek and the amazing bird life. The town offers several dinning options and we chose to go to Nicks for a pizza and a beer at sunset. Just a lovely break.

A beautiful little town easy to get around however was disappointed that there was a large number of stores not open or had restricted days. We visited on a Tuesday and stayed two nights. Considering this was also school holiday time as well, the main restaurant was not open until Thursday night which left little to choose from except the local pub or a pizza and pasta place. Luckily our accommodation had a kitchen so we stayed in and cooked our own meals.

Yungaburra is very central to things on the tableland.
Yungaburra is very central to things on the tableland. It has a nice little town are and the eating out is great. We would thoroughly recommend travellers to dine at Our Place restaurant but you would definitely need to book.
The best accomodation we have ever stayed in, would highly recommend! Our Eden House cabins were lavishly appointed and an absolute delight to stay in. Almost self contained, they had thought of everything. They were perfectly situated in a tropical garden away from the road. Very quiet, yet virtually in the middle of the beautiful village of Yungaburra. One minute away from the centre with all its quaint shops and attractions. And a few minutes from the amazing Petersen Creek Walking Trail. We look forward to staying at Eden House again!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the beautiful cabin. The breakfast was super generous and delicious. The fireplace that you can turn was mind blowing. There were so many thoughtful little details, like the port in crystal decanter with two little glasses and chocolates heart on the bed. The cabin its self was so well thought out in design and tastefully decorated, especially loved the metal art that also was a hook for the fireplace tools. I would highly recommend Mt Quincan if you are looking for total relaxation.
We loved the cottage (Kingfisher). It had everything you could possibly need and our one regret is that we were only there for 3 nights. Next time will be longer. The cottage overlooks bushland that leads down to Peterson Creek, a great place for a drink and platypus spotting. Yungaburra is a quaint little town with an excellent bookshop, good coffee and pub food. Looking forward to our next visit.
Exceptionally friendly hosts, very welcoming. Location was great, yungaburra is a small rural town with charm and a relaxed vibe. Unit was spacious, stylish and very comfortable. Everything we needed for a comfortable stay of 3 nights, Diz provided generous supplies for breakfast. Recommended hosts and accommodation, cant wait to stay again!
The property looked cute from the road. The room was very clean. The bed very comfortable. We dealt with Vicki who was very welcoming and informative. The property is conveniently located within easy walking distance to cafes, shopping and the Yungaburra pub. This property is excellent value for money.
Quaint and comfortable, the cottage lets guests feel they are fully a part of the Yungaburra community. The outdoor spaces were delightful, the two bedrooms were light and airy, the living space was very practical and the provided hamper was a nice touch. The location was excellent.
Gorgeous house right on the lake with great views, facilities, fireplace and lounge - a real home away from home with so many special touches that only enhanced the experience. The weather was bad that weekend and it didn't impact our enjoyment at all, as house was so accommodating!
Central quiet location in Yungaburra makes an excellent base to explore the Atherton Tablelands. Spotlessly clean and comfortable room with my own little courtyard to sit in and unwind after travelling. Walking distance to interesting little shops and eateries.
The location is within easy walking distance of the township of Yungaburra. Any imperfections the property may have just gave it the homely feel. My wife and I enjoyed the stay immensely and it was good to light the fireplace to keep warm at night.
Great views, lovely setting & very relaxing, the house was very comfortable and clean with everything needed. Good location, happen to be there when the Yungaburra markets were on which are very good. Would recommend this place.
Situated in the shopping village we walked 100 metres to the local hotel for dinner, got fresh supplies for the next day a few doors down and crossed the road for freshly brewed coffee and breakfast in the morning.
Conveniently located, spacious and comfortable. Gina’s recommendations for things to do were helpful. We could walk to all parts of Yungaburra easily and loved easy access to Petersons Creek where we saw platypus.
The Church was such an interesting and quirky place to stay and a great base to explore Yungaburra and the surrounding Tablelands. We had a really comfortable stay and loved the delicious jam and fresh sunflowers!
