Rurrenbaque is the perfect jumping off point for your Amazon adventure. There are plenty of restaurants and a few great cafes, and plenty of companies to choose from when picking how to do a tour(s) in the Amazon. It is easy to get around of foot, and tuktuks take you to and from the airport for cheap.

Very nice weather; I recommend 10-14 days to do most jungle trips or visit communities and even do some volunteer work if that's on your plans and time.
People are friendly, cooperative and flexible

Lots of good options for eating both local and international food.
You may walk almost everywhere or take motorcycle cabs.

Everybody scared us about the street to get there but during the dry season is ok, nothing scaring. In 12-15 hours you get there! Avoid Luz del mar restaurant, cuisine is nothing special and they try to charge more. Go to yummy, amazing shakes, pancakes and frozen coffee:) we choose max adventure to go to the jungle, a little bit expensive but the experience is amazing!
