Porto Alegre is a big city with a felling of small town.
Porto Alegre is a big city with a felling of small town. Lots of green areas, parks and squares. The shopping malls are huge. The traffic is not bad, just avoid to go out at rush hour. The main food is bbq (gaucho stye) and has steakhouses all you can eat with a reasonable price everywhere around the city.

Porto Alegre is full of potential.
Porto Alegre is full of potential. However, I did not feel real safe walking by myself in some areas. On Sunday afternoon, I met a local who spoke English. She said my feelings were correct and that I needed to be VERY aware of who was around me. The town itself has an enormous amount of wonderful, old architectural beauties to behold. If you are traveling through this area, a one-day stop is sufficient.

Compared to Salvador, Recife or Rio Porto Alegre has not so much to offer. There are some museums worth a short visit, there is the botanical garden and the Orla do Guaiba, the promenade/beach at the river, where it is especially nice to go to see the sunset. I think three days are enough.
A fourth day can be spent in Gramado and Canela to the waterfall Cascata do Caracol.

Nice town. Much better than Sao Paulo. And it's cleaner as well. No, it's a clean town with good air. The buffet restaurants are exelents, everybody needs to try it many more, who likes the beef meat and the fruits.

the worst part is the city airport connecting flight which is Lima Peru the worst most terrible airport in the world included the working personnel of the airport and the Avianca airline as well. in addition you can buy snitching to drink or eat because is a robbery. An example a little can of domestic beer they charge 7 dollars and a little pack of potato chips 5 dollars. if you can avoid Avianca airlines connecting in Lima Peru , do it , you will thanks me
I recently stayed for a few days and was thoroughly impressed with my experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff was really helpful and accommodating. The rooms were spacious, clean and well-appointed, with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. The location of the hotel was also ok, with easy access to the airport and the bus terminal. Overall, I had a fantastic time at this hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone in search of a comfortable, enjoyable stay
Great overall experience and best price.
Best location in Porto Alegre and extremely easy access. Feels very safe for loading/waiting due to glass walls, two front doors system and the free space in front of building.
I was feeling insecure about traveling alone and doing absolutely everything online and everything worked well and the customer service was very efficient.
Great hostel in a historic Brazillian villa, full of artistic charm, and with all the amenities that are necessary: a full function kitchen, warm and clean showers, and a great common room, as well as a garden. All of this in a good and welcoming part of Porto Alegre, one of the pearls of Brazil, a city of beauty and hospitality.
I arrived there in the midst of your flooding disaster, the hotel was assisting the locals and I felt bad too of occupied a room a family could have used. I had financial issues and more for ground travel to leave, everyone there was wonderful, kind, understanding ( love the Brazilian people and thank you for everything )
I only stayed at the hotel overnight due to a long layover and was pleasantly surprised with my stay. 24hr reception was very helpful and attentive, the room was big, modern and clean and the bed super comfy!
Definitely worth the value and would recommend! thank you for a pleasant rest!
Room good large but need improvement , central air conditioning system is not working properly. Room very hot. If opening windows all traffic voices inside in your room. I never stay this hotel due to air conditioning system
Nice hotel close to Porto Alegre's cool neighborhood, Cidade Baixa. A giant park is also a couple blocks away, perfect for a walk and nice views. The breakfast was really delicious with a wide variety of choices.
Well-located studio in the heart of Porto Alegre. Steps away from the city center, restaurants, and groceries. Spacious with a bedroom and kitchen area. Had air conditioning.
the staff was great! seem that was a great hotel in the past, now some renovation is needed. but overall, considering the price, it is a good price for money for quick trips.
Near the airport. For just one night it was worth the money. Bed was comfortable, shower was amazing, breakfast was good. The hotel offers transfer to the airport.
Fine location, near historical city centre and all Porto Alegre main atractions. Nice and confortable rooms, with fridge and sink. Very clear, excellent breakfast.
