Pretty sure I booked the best suite. Pictures looked different than the room we were given. Booked a 1 bed (queen sized) room. Was given a 2 bed (double) instead.

Everything. Michelle thought of every detail perfectly. They had kayaks you could borrow, an outside bbq facility, the rooms were perfect and it felt like a lot of care went into it. We also got a home made dessert and the most amazing breakfast. 11/10

I loved the views of Port Hardy, but shopping in the Mall was not a great , the toilet situation was not a good experience, I would say a young person aprox 20 to 25 yrs old was in the toilet for about 1/2hr, scary as I think he was using drugs,
There were several of us waiting to use the facility

Need a car to get around.
Need a car to get around. Book tours etc before you go as very little information or advertising when you get there. We maybe should have done this and we would have found something to do!. There are walking trails but not very well advertsied. Beautiful untouched and natural scenery around that area. Telegraph Cove is a must.. Not many places to eat and very few shops.

Port Hardy is a beautiful city, but not many options for coffee shops or places to stop in for a drink other that the restaurants in the hotels. Lots of places to explore and walking trails by the Harbour and met some locals fishing off the pier by the Marina. If one brought their fishing rods, this would be a nice way to spend some time. I could have easily stayed 2-3 nights here but it's generally used as a hub for Cape Scott or BC Ferries heading up the Inside Passage. The nature here is next to none and lots of food options in the Save on Foods for those wanting to eat in. There is a BC Liquor store which has everything else you might need.

Port Hardy is a small town surrounded by nature.
Port Hardy is a small town surrounded by nature. If you enjoy beach walks, hiking, biking, boating or camping it is a great base to explore the outdoors. The North Island is absolutely beautiful and full of wildlife. Port Hardy has a great coffee shop, Cafe Guido, great bookstore with a selection of local authors - Booknook, and a great little local market Copper and Kelp, plus a good restaurant at Kwa’lilas Hotel.

A great little quiet town with trails nearby and a good place to access the NW tip of the island from. It's beautiful and we could see wildlife right out our window or as we walked along the boardwalk.

Its a great place to go see wildlife (bears crossing the road, great whale watching available), go hiking and do wilderness excursions but there is very little to do in town itself with particularly limited options for keeping younger kids entertained. There is a nice sandy beach on the Port Rupert side but it can get windy.
The staff was friendly and caring. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The curtains were dark but the rest of the room was great. It's an old hotel but they have been making changes. I was skeptical of getting the first floor room but it was fine. There is a good size fridge, Not the regular hotel mini-fridge.
Staff was very friendly/helpful.
Room was clean. We had a partial view of the water, which was nice. It was quiet.
Location of hotel was great--close to town and to the ferry. A takeway, bagged light breakfast (no eating in the lobby!) and coffee was provided to all those catching that very early morning ferry.
Front counter staff was very friendly and helpfull. Layout of hotel is "awkward" hotel is old but the very neat and clean. Fo if you are looking for amenities this may not be for you, however, if you are looking for a clean room, and friendly staff. This hotel meets the bill.
I loved the location of the property. Its right between the town of Port Hardy and the ferry terminal.. Either way was less than 10 mins, driving. Although it’s next to the highway, it was so quiet and peaceful. The property was very clean and obviously well kept.
Robert & Anne were wonderful, kind hosts. Full of recommendations for the area. We hope to visit again next time we are in Port Hardy.
Room was spacious and clean. A great communal area to chat with other travellers and the kitchen had everything you could need.
Happy to relax in a clean cabin with bbq right outside our door. . B.C.Power was off for the whole day Sunday due to upgrading the area, so we visited a lot of lakes and bbq our dinner. We may be moving to Port Hardy.
Great staff. Beautiful clean room. We really enjoyed our stay here. We also went to the pub in the building for dinner while we were there. Enjoyed our meal. I would definitely recommend this hotel
Unfortunately there was a power outage the whole time we were at the hotel which covered the whole north Island . Could not eat there only sleep and was the hottest day ever.
Previous positive reports on cleanliness were one of the reasons we chose this hotel. We were very happy with it.
Also enjoyed the balcony view over the bay.
Convenient location for the Inner Passage Ferry terminal.
Simple hotel, great staff and 24 hour reception which is essential for the 5am wake up for the ferry!!
