I planned to stay in Saarbrucken, a nearby city, but there was no availability. I am grateful that I ended up booking the Burgerhof in Homburg, just 30 minutes from Saarbrucken. I am from the U.S. but live in Belgium. I travel often and stay in many hotels. Burgerhof was one of the better hotels I have stayed in for the price. We had a spacious room with a large shower compared to many hotels we've stayed in. Breakfast was a good selection with delicious coffee, and they even set up and reserved a large table for our big group so we could all sit together. The pool was lovely, the kids were so happy when they "finally" got to go swimming.

The spa area is small, yet enough for a short getaway over the weekend. The rooftop pool is warm enough to have a comfortable swim even when the weather is a bit chilly and windy. Deckchairs are new and the view from the roof down to the lake is fantastic.
