My girlfriend and I found it to be a very pleasant city worth spending a few nights in. We live in Berlin and it was a lovely city break. Highly recommended for couples looking to escape Berlin for a weekend.
Mostly a family place but also suitable for quiet uncomplicated time in nature alone or as a couple. Good walking or cycling opportunities in all directions. Ostalgie experience: the building is renovated but otherwise remains an authentic "Platte" unchanged in form since the 1980s, so one can still experience the type of holiday the Party had planned for the citizenry of the GDR. Templin town is worth a day trip (the Karl Marx monument is perfectly preserved!)
Simple but good breakfast (pick your style of eggs, decent vegetarian options) and drip coffee with option to buy other coffee drinks. Flexible breakfast times could be booked with reserved tables. Good Corona safey measures. Room was quiet at night and during day with windows closed. Fast internet. Cold minifridge. Curtains keep the room very dark and with windows closed its really quiet even with plenty of other guests in the hotel. Friendly staff.
Very quiet location in a small artist village between Lychen and Templin (about 10km from each).
Very friendly hosts who were quiet willing to supply what little items were missing in the kitchen or apartment.
We did not approach the hosts about items listed below (fridge & showerheads) since those were not the kind of thing that was easily fixed and/or should have been taken care of ahead of renting the apartment.
Great choice for families with kids. The main attraction is the beautiful lake nearby. The playground and petting zoo provided good fun for a more relaxed day, and the old town of Templin is only a few minutes away (also good for grocery shopping). The houses are comfortable spacious and the kitchens well equipped, surrounded by lots of greenery and the spa is a minute walk away.
Fantastic breakfast, calm place to stay, only 5 min. away by foot from train station & a few more min. from the center, bus station to Naturtherme Templin and center just 2 min. by foot, bus usually departs every 20-30 minutes, parking close to the building available, attentive & courteous staff.
Location is awesome, with a spectacular lake in front of the Hotel, there is a sauna right in front of the lake from where you have a window from which you enjoy the view. Everyone working in the Hotel was nice and helpful.
Breakfast was delicious!
Frau Winter did her job with all her heart. She really spoils her guests and did everything to make me feel welcomed. I would definately come back to this place if I go to templin again!
Thanks :)
