Really nice hotel. Very stylish, large rooms.
Food was very good. Free parking. Right across road from many beaches. Quiet. Good view of sea. Golf course looked pretty nice and was moderately priced. Clean.

If you want a nice relaxing quiet stay don't go to this hotel it's noisy entertainment right outside the majority of rooms Had to put ear plugs in and close all doors and curtains. Couldn't enjoy sitting on terrace with a chillout wine and watch the sun set !!! If you want waiter service at the bar terrace think again...it's non existant and you have to queue at the bar to get a drink....Unheard of in all the hotels we've stayed in. They cut the staff levels to a bare minimum and we got the impression that everything was skimped on to save money.

Resort was a great place to stay and enjoy, great facilities, lovely room with a view of the pool. Location also good for getting out and about. Took the local ferry across to the beach which is long and beautiful. Sand dunes very pretty and breaming with nature. Went to the local towns and commercial centre to eat and look around, all very good, not over crowded. I'm not a golfer but the golf course looked very good and the golfers looked like they were having a great time, especially in the bar! Staff were very freindly and helpful. Free train services is very sweet. Spa facilites and staff very good, especially the staff. At breakfast we enjoyed freshly cooked omelettes, in local eating places we enjoyed reasonably priced, fresh sea food. Easy to walk around and easy to drive and park around. We used it as a base to discover Portugal as well and then went on to Seville, all quite close in a car. 1 to 1.30 hour trips.

We did not visit the Town of El Rompido.
We did not visit the Town of El Rompido.
My problem is with Booking.com. Until the following happened I was very happy with Booking.com processes.
As a courtesy I completed Booking.com Hotel review with the condition in CAPITAL LETTERS NOT TO ENTER IT PUBLICLY but Booking.com ignored my request possibly because no-one looks at the customer replies. I then tried to contact them but found their multiple messages during booking were all No Reply Emails which I consider bad manners and disrespectful. The Booking.com help center was another batch of questions but no phone or email contact information. So in desperation I enter this reply and hope my requests regarding the initial survey will be implemented. I will be amazed if this goes onto Booking.com web site, if it does not it shows my request was ignored. Otis a shame I have been driven eto this as I have never before raised a complaint anywhere I usually do not go back but we will be back toHotel Fuerte Rl Rompido.

El Rompido is lovely and local - off the beaten track, however easily accessible from Faro Airport. The Hotel arranged a shuttle and it was a very good service indeed. The hotels buffet style restaurant was good, fabulous breakfasts with Prosecco, there some very good local restaurants in the small port town. Some lovely little shops too and well stocked supermarket. The beach is super and there is a go carting facility just 5km from the hotel that we cycled to on hired bikes (arranged through the hotel). Next door is a hotel with two 18 hole golf courses that you can play on if you have an official handicap. Between El Rompido and the golf course hotel there is a National Park that is gorgeous for walking. The spa in El Rompido is lovely. I would highly recommend El Rompido if you are looking for a quite beach holiday away from it all. Oh the gardens are lovely and there is ping pong, air hockey, volley ball, mini soccer, swings and a zip line.

El Rompido is a hidden jewel in Spains Crown as is only small but has so much to offer - Bars, restaurants (right on the waters front), Marina, Beaches, Pharmacy, Supermarket, Clothes shops for all ages and budgets, Lottery Shop, 2 Lighthouses, beautiful estuary and beaches opposite the mainland with easy access by free boat.
Just had a sleepy but lot's to offer feel and very traditional with little shops and boutiques and white houses everywhere!
Definitely come back again!

The resort it looks fantastic, I wish I could have stayed there a bit longer. The only issue was with the fact that we were staying at the apartments instead of the hotel and the reception on that area was closed and we have to go to the main reception at the hotel, which is not far, but there was a fire alarm incident happening on the 1st of Jan and the guests from our floor should run to the main reception to report the issue, delaying the help and assistance from the hotel team.
This gets my top rating. 👏 wonderful, friendly staff (except one who thinks she owns the place, but I forgive her, lol!) Superb gentle atmosphere. Excellent location and facilities. Very clean and comfortable. I am a Scottish, a farmer (in Spain, about 2.5 hours away) and was desperate for a break after the harvest. I was exhausted. This was perfect for me. I extended my stay by 3 days. I wish it could be a month You! You will love it.
The staff and hotel are warm and welcoming. Beautiful setting and although it can be cold in the evening/night in Dec the hotel was extremely comfortable at all times. All of the staff were friendly and cheerful but Pepe in the hotel bar went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay and was attentive, friendly and very professional.
The peacefulness and understated elegance of this hotel, perfectly located and beautifully appointed.
The staff are great, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the swimming pool is dreamy, and the enveloping golf course a perfect complement.
We were upgraded to a Junior Suite - lovely spacious rooms with large balcony with loungers -wonderful view overlooking golf course - great pool area with a variety of good food available - good entertainment in hotel bars in evening.
the resort is well equipped , nice location close to a small town and not far away from Huelva !
the buffet dinner at the hotel was quite good, there is another restaurant and bars for snacks on the site
I loved the house, and the surrounding land. It's only 20 minutes away from Huelva and within a 40min walk to the nearest town - Cartaya. Plenty of space in the surroundings of the house.
Stayed in Apartments - predominantly French guests, the Hotel seems to be where most British stay.
Food is excellent.
Pool area couldn't be faulted.
Both golf courses very good
WE have stayed at El Rompido several times . Unfortunately this time we had a room with 2 single beds when a large bed was requested and a double required a chargeable upgrade
