Gata is a lovely typical Spanish town with narrow streets and traditional architecture with a scattering of modern buildings mixed in.
I was there during a Moors and Christians festival which was really enjoyable to witness but for the fact the streets around my hotel were closed , thus leaving me nowhere to park my car in easy access and also having the noise of the event lasting throughout the night .
I did enjoy the spectacle and the atmosphere created by the involvement of many generations of local people though unfortunately for me I was not on holiday and would have welcomed a more tranquil stay on this occasion
Lovely place to stay, staff very professional, friendly and welcoming. The room basic but very spacious, comfortable, extremely clean, top marks for this hotel. The restaurant is part of the hotel but off site just around the corner, food excellent quality and service excellent, staff very attentive, friendly and welcoming. If we are in this area again will definitely book this hotel. Highly recommended.
It seems to be the only hotel in Gata de Gorgos, a village not far from Denia and Javea. There is a tram stop. Most visitors seem to stay here because of the very reasonable prices and the easy commute. The village is very authentic and the gorge is beautiful. Rooms are standard.
