Small hotel very close to the train station. The hotel is also a block away from the main pedestrian area with many restaurants and stores. It is a lovely city and the hortillonages are very interesting and lovely to walk in. The cathedral is well worth a visit and we had the privilege of attending Sunday Mass there which we loved. Very reverent and befitting of true worship. Beautiful singing. We can also recommend Ad Hoc Café in the St Leu district. Good food and well priced; good vibe.

This visit (my second to Amiens) Day 1 started at the Saturday canal-side market, lots of stalls with seasonal vegetables, fruit and herbs grown in the Hortonillage and the Somme region. Then I dipped into some shops - including an inspiring visit to the ground floor of the big Monoprix where clever lighting makes quite ordinary day to day food look irresistible, some of the many new and secondhand bookshops, a huge ironmongers and an over-the-top patisserie. In the afternoon, to Jules Verne's house: a wonderfully, eccentric building; full of marvellous furniture and objects, very well curated. I spent the whole of Day 2 (7 am - 4 pm at the extraordinary - huge - Spring Braderie. I found that my visit to the Jules Verne house, and its thoughtful interpretation made the market especially enjoyable. Many of the stalls had examples of the things I had found so interesting in the house - for instance archeological finds, including flint axes, found around Amiens; corals and shells; endless examples of oil lamps (some working, other 'do-er' uppers). Many stalls had very good pieces of ceramic from different periods and cultures. Lots of the stall holders were up for a good bit of haggling. Then a glass of beer in the sun-shine ,sitting on the street outside a cafe, buzzing with laughing locals and visitors. Amiens is a very walkable city, its buildings are fabulous. It's lively and very clean.

Lovely old town centre and especially the cathedral. Well worth a look around. Nice cafes. Parking was initially a problem as large town centre car park ticket machines did not work. We got a side street machine which worked fine.

Amiens is a small city, and perfect for walking. The cathedral in particular, is spectacular, but it's not the only place of interest in, or around, the town. St Leu, and Les Hortillonnages, plus Le Jardin des Plantes, are well worth visiting and, of course, many of the WW1 sites are within very easy reach, by car.

It’s a lovely building close to the Cathedral. It is one of the few remaining original buildings of the neighbourhood which survived both World Wars. The chapel room is charming and I had a wonderful night’s sleep. The staff are very friendly and you can tell they want to make you feel at home. It is possibly one of the most delicious hotel breakfasts I have ever eaten, with pancakes and cheeses and croissants and artichoke and honey and lichees… all with a view on the Cathedral in the morning sun. Amiens is a gentle, easygoing city.

The Gem is ideally located for a few days in Amiens, the heart of the city centre is all within easy walking distance. We didn't need the car during our stay so having free parking at the end of the road was really helpful. Recommendations for dinner options were spot-on and really good bread, croissants, coffee and juice for breakfast. The room was spacious, comfortable and peaceful. This was a much better option than similarly priced chain hotels.

Hostess is marvellous, attentive and friendly. The shower was new and spacious. Very practical and complete kitchen. Location was a bit away, exactly our target. We wanted to stay in quiet neighborhood instead of the center. Road connections are super easy to the coastal villages, to the center of Amiens, etc. Supermarkets at 200 m. Center of Amiens at 1 ,5 Km, 5 min in a car.

The staff were amazing , especially the manager - helping us out when we were stuck with our car roof box. They let us keep it there the night before we stayed and were helpful when they didn’t need to be - also cheap price for a night before coming home. Didn’t book for breakfast but it smelt very nice. Near the bus route into Amiens which are free on a Saturday

From the outside, the hotel actually looks a bit like the odd hotel in the neighbourhood of the central station. The entrance is inside the foyer of a big shopping centre ( not very attractive)….BUT THE HOTEL IS REALLY NICE, CLEAN and the STAFF IS SUPER FRIENDLY! I would like to recommend this place for a stopover! The breakfast was included and really good!

This is great hotel located only a few minutes walk from the cathedral and St Leu - ideal for exploring Amiens. It's an Ibis Styles so you sort of know what to expect but the lobby area with it's comfy seating areas, outdoor spaces and large bar is really great. The staff were really helpful and breakfast was good. The air con certainly works in the rooms!

Fantastically located on 200 m from the cathedral (but no noise at night whatsoever) as well as 200 m walking into the pedestrian city centre. Park your car at the Parking Amiens St Leu Cathédrale (you cannot park at the hotel), it's a 3 min walk to the hotel and it cost us 7 eur for the 16 hours we were there.

The breakfast was nothing exceptional but it was more than adequate. The hotel is situated on a main road going into Amiens and it was in a great location for the nearby bars and restaurants. The rooms were basic but efficient and clean and certainly comfortable enough for a quick overnight stay.
