Everything was very nice. The room was lovely, the beds extremely comfortable, the bath big and luxurious, the breakfast very good with lots of choice, and, most of all, the host and hostess were extraordinarily friendly and helpful. Near Avebury Stone circle which was fun. And great TV options like Netflix, etc. If you want a quiet evening in. We will definitely return if ever in the area again.

Lovely quiet location in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside beside an old pub and restaurant. Food in the restaurant was excellent but way overpriced.
Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was enjoyable.

Location was spot on, a short walk into Marlborough
Great B&B friendly host, very clean comfy room. Delicious breakfast, spacious car park. Well stocked fridge with honesty box. Great location for touring the area. The host had arranged a 20% discount off food at the local pub for residents. We took advantage of this for a meal... a nice saving. Highly recommended B&B.

great town to visit, a lot of ancient landmarks, very nice people, great places to eat and drink nearby, great places to stay, nice little shops, don't park to much in public if you are foreign visitor as they tend to target foreign cars ;-)

We loved the standing stones and the fact that one can hike around the area and see so much without any barriers or encumbrances re access to the stones. We ate at the Red Lion each night and the food was really good. Make sure to check out the table built on an ancient 80 foot well - what a back story. Its a quaint quiet town and the stones are quite impressive. Two days was perfect for us to “absorb the energy” and have a quiet ramble. Not too crowded - A lovely place to visit.

We visited at Easter which is the perfect time for us with all the flowers, spring lambs and (luckily for us) beautiful weather. There are some stunning walks to the stones and other sites of interest. I had no idea of the historical significance of this fascinating place. We found the local people friendly and helpful. The Manor house, museum and Gardens are worth a visit and The Circles cafe served soup, sandwiches, pasties, ice cream and cream teas (including a vegan option). The local shops were great too and we spent many hours in looking at crystals, books and locally produced goods. We were unable to get a table at The Red Lion pub which is an attractive thatched roof pub (Chef and Brewer) in the village but we chose instead some independent local-ish eateries. Nearby Marlborough has some good restaurants and excellent shops.

Dorwyn Manor B&B was on the main Avebury to Swindon road and easily accessed by bus. The main attractions were within walking distance and there were many sites to visit. West Kennett Long Barrow is not to be missed.

Avebury is a wonder.
Avebury is a wonder. Hugely impressive and very mysterious - why? how? who? Do a little reading in advance (see Wikipedia entry) to enhance the experience and buy the guide book while you are there as it has some good imaginative reconstructions of the original structures. Do visit the museum.
