A great place to stay if you want to visit Beamish Museum,...

A great place to stay if you want to visit Beamish Museum, which as we found can take a couple of days to explore fully. 20 minutes drive to Durham. Only a few minutes to Angel of the North. We cooked for ourselves, but did use an excellent local chippy one evening. Several fast food outlets there. Town centre within easy walking distance. A big Morrisons store.

    very clean and spacious.

very clean and spacious. It was cold in the morning and we didn't want to turn the boiler on with no instructions although it was just a standard boiler. Only issues was no bread to go with the butter and jam
